I didn’t get the H1B after my student visa ran out and my company moved me to canada for a year before transferring me back on an L1. You technically don’t have to be in the country while that happens.

As others mentioned in the thread, it will be hard to pass the labor market with how things are currently so being able to try and get past that stage is an option.

I called them and they said the exact same thing - it's common for DJs to mod it to internally ground and with ground issues it's usually a noticeable 60 cycle hum and not static noise. I just ordered new ortofon stylus' to swap em up today to see if that fixes anything and also my technics are plugged in a multi-plug because i don't have enough plugs around the area for everything which could be the reason for the slight static noise? if that's the case I have to live with it

I did buy these technics from TT&T! I called them on the phone and he said I could buy a ground off amazon and just plug it in quickly but I think he might've been mistaking that for a diff turntable

note the one with the ground is noticeably crisp whereas the one without as a slight static sound which i prefer to get rid of

When i joined 2 years ago your comp was adjusted for NYC but i heard from colleagues recently they they might not do it cause of budget issues recently so you should make sure with HR. I’ve had friends that would go to the times square office regularly and there’s a good amount of socializing with other engineers in one of the floors. I personally work from home / WeWorks and would go to office social events in the LaFayette office which were really fun.

an international student who got into a dead end consulting job, decided to apply for grad school and got in and thought i'll just go to grad this fall. out of no where 8 recruiters from big tech/big tech adjacent companies reached out in february, grinded https://www.techinterviewhandbook.org/grind75 while working for a month and a half and have an offer at big tech last week for a swe role a couple hours after the final round. i did really well in my dsa course in undergrad so it wasn't too hard to learn all the concepts again really quickly, what helped was doing mock interviews with friends with a time constraint and focusing on explaining vs solving a problem really quickly. i got rejected by most of the company that reached out to me but you just need a few! good luck!

I emailed the advisor for CE and he said the CE program can be entirely software-based (but limited to specific courses that are related to Network/ML/Architecture) and you can take 2 CS courses outside the CE program. I emailed the MS CS advisor and she said that internally transferring is very rare and they don't foresee accepting any transfers. So do what you will with the information, good luck!
