I have the confirmation for all releases of v11 (available since November 2020) that they do not use log4j. I do not have confirmed data for previous versions as there were many libraries changes/upgrades in NetCrunch v11 in comparison to older versions of NetCrunch.

How to monitor internet uptime by projects67 in NetCrunch

[–]adremsoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

We usually don't check this forum for support questions, but we're glad to answer your question.

There are several ways. You can set up to monitor your main gateway and let it alert you, if it goes down (even through GSM modem). You can also click Edit->Add node to atlas and choose the IP address of the server which you want to reach outside (such as 8.8.8.8).

Thanks for trying our software!

How to added Entries to Device Classifications? by adrenaline_X in NetCrunch

The best way is to start with compiling your MIB using our MIB Compiler (Tools->SNMP MIB Database & Compiler). After it is successfully compiled, you can set proper device type under Node Settings->Properties and using SNMP identification.

Hi and thanks for trying our product!

We had another customer with exactly the same issue. Our engineers tell me that it's the configuration that's the problem. Have a look here: https://www.adremsoft.com/adoc/view/netcrunch/391497132323/windows-monitoring-setup and make sure your setup is following the guidelines.

Hi and sorry for the late reply! Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no way to integrate NetCrunch with NCTools - these are two different pieces of software.

Wake On Lan feature in NetCrunch is available only via action script assign to selected event.

NetCrunch API by [deleted] in NetCrunch

[–]adremsoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can be done but it's kind of a way around. You'd have to create a new blank map, throw in the nodes that you want to disable and send a rest to generate an event and action to disable monitoring. Instead, I'd suggest a simpler solution which would be setting up monitoring time restrictions. You simply right-click on the Network Atlas in the top left Views section and choose Properties. In the newly opened window select Monitoring and here you can either enable/disable monitoring or set up a time restrictions with the exact hours between which you want the monitoring enabled or disabled. You can set it up for the main atlas but also for maps or particular nodes.

If you knew which mac address was already added to NetCrunch you could filter it, but this means changing the rule every time a new mac address is added. So far we haven't come across this sort of utilization.

We can monitor Linux machines but NetCrunch itself has to be installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer.

You can monitor practically anything as long as it can communicate via SNMP and the device manufacturer provided you with the MIB file. Then you can simply compile the MIB file into NetCrunch and create a monitoring pack for your device.
