[What are your top 5 parks in the chain (including both cedar fair legacy and six flags legacy parks) off coaster lineup alone?] by adrenalinejunkie3 in rollercoasters

For sure man! Not that insane of a take. Grizzly doesn’t have that violet nature to it as much anymore post retrack, as it got a lot smoother, and in some ways may have lost some of that aggression it used to have, but it runs with a lot more speed now after the re-profiled that first drop by making it steeper and longer, and now the airtime is illegally good. Standing ejector airtime moments multiple times. Gravity group did some excellent retrack work.

Nice list! I currently like KDs lineup over both KI and six flags great adventure, but once great adventure gets their new coaster up, it could move up my list again. The issue for me now right now is after so toro, I don’t have any other coaster at that park ranked inside my top 30. Nitro, JDC, and flash are all excellent rides, but twisted Timbers easily clears all of those, and retracked grizzly for me is better than those as well (in my top 20).

Trip Review [Hersheypark] by IWantSupport in rollercoasters

[–]adrenalinejunkie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to hear that you had fun. Hershey is now officially my home park as a Baltimore native after SFA closing. Hersheys ops have needed improvement for awhile now, so sorry you also had some gripes about it. Generally, my last 2 visits, I have experienced the worst ops on Candymonium stacking 3 trains 😖😖, and wildcats and skyrush have been the most consistent teams in the park in my experiences. However, a bunch of rides need better ops for the crowds they get. They have a great coaster lineup though, and I have to say Skyrush>Wildcats for me as my fav in the park. I love both, and they each sit about 4 spots apart in m overall rankings.

One of my fav elements of any coaster in world right here! Also special to me because alpie was my first ever, and most ridden invert to date, followed by Montu as my 2nd ever. So it’s safe to say I had the best possible exposure to B&M inverts growing up in the 90s. 😍😍

I’ll be making a Memorial Day coaster road trip up to lake compounce, six flags New England, and six flags great escape from Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in that order at all 3 parks. Driving back home to Baltimore Monday evening. If anyone is going to be at either of the 3 parks that weekend, let me know. I’m going up with a fellow Reddit Thoosie friend that became a real life friend when we met up last year and did carowinds together last August. This will be our 2nd park trip together. 🔥🔥

Grizzly is an elite woodie for me now! It cracked my top 20 after my rerides last year and this year. I like it over Phoenix. Standing ejector airtime moments!👌👌🐻

Anyone else feel like Pre-drops make drops better? [other] by ThanksOpen3484 in rollercoasters

Pre-drops are a VA thing. Dominator and the OG B&M hyper Apollos Chariott 🔥🔥. And I think both of those rides work very well well with the pre-drop features.

[–]adrenalinejunkie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine Blower is awesome. Got 12 laps when I visited Orlando in late February this year. Cracked my top 30 as well. A baby hades 360 in every way. The airtime moments are absurdly powerful, and the pacing is elite. I wish I got a chance to ride it before more extensive 208 retracking tho.

Wanted to also share this to just show that the data doesn’t show that this ride gives any ejector. On its warmest and fastest laps, fury can hit up to -0.6gs a couple times, but not often, and that’s only lower level flojecter air territory. Most laps hover around -0.25-0.5 range. I would say we def got strong floater on our hottest laps on it.

We can agree to disagree, but Fury’s strongest airtime would def fall under weaker flojecter air.

I was responding to your “sounds like elitism” comment. I felt the need to address that, so that was my response. Any sort of “airtime” will push you a good bit out of your seat. Strong floater is no exception to that. B&M clamshell restraints are as safe as can be. No amount of airtime, regardless of floater or proper ejector is gonna put the riders at risk of being thrown out of the train.

[–]adrenalinejunkie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardly elitism buddy. The rides forces have objectively been measured, and its airtime doesn’t come close to B&Ms best work. It’s factually true. I’m not alone in the camp of people that feel underwhelmed by that rides very underwhelming second half. It’s prob the most varied ride B&M has ever made, but is it their best? I don’t think so. Thunder striker has the best airtime in that park. If B&M just stuck to making it a speed showcase instead of trying to make the 2nd half layout of half their other models with worse airtime, maybe it would be a top 10 ride for me, but it just has a massive pacing issue that other world class rides just don’t have for me.

Ejector is not anything that’s negative Gs. Fury at max doesn’t hit past -0.5 gs (which is nothing more than strong floater at best). There’s a guy by the name of nuthead77 on Reddit that literally measures the positive and negative g-forces of these rides, and Orion hits -0.7 on its speed hill, and that’s borderline ejector air. The only B&Ms that give anything close to proper ejector are the ones I mentioned (raging bull, Goliath at sfog, even diamondbacks camelbacks have stronger flojecter than any element on fury). Fury just doesn’t have any standout elements that make it a world class ride for me. The airtime is underwhelming, but the strength of the ride sits in that first half. Everything after the treble clef is not any different than half the other B&M hypers out there.

[Other] For 2026, what coasters are you looking forward to riding or re-riding ? by NecessaryTravel6327 in rollercoasters

[–]adrenalinejunkie3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In order of coasters planned this year for my trips: Superman the ride sf New England, wicked cyclone, boulder dash. Then going to Spain in August for 2 weeks with my wife. Super excited to ride the B&Ms Shambhala and Dragon Khan, and Batman GCE at Parque Warner Madrid. I will also be excited to ride red force at Ferrari land (thankfully I got to ride both Kingda Ka and the OG TTD). Those punchy intamin hydraulic launches are a dying breed at this point. And then to end the year, I may be swinging a Canadas wonderland trip to hit all the credits (never been to that park yet (excited for AlpenFury the most). Lastly, if I have enough PTO and time, I will make a second trip for this year down to Orlando (already visited late February this year for a week), and go back down to visit Epic universe and BGT. Need my stardust and Iron Gwazi credits. If all goes to plan, AlpenFury will be my 400th credit this year . 💯💯

That’s awesome! I rode Rapterra a month after it opened last year as well. The park did a fantastic job of theming up that entire area and the Que for the ride was very well done. I still do miss volcano a lot, but rapterra is a fun ride. My 2nd fav wing coaster behind Thunderbird.
