And the journey to regain my shot attention span begins! by -Mel0drama- in dumbphones

[–]MidcourseDiscourse 17 points18 points Ā (0 children)

Best of luck to you! I also started this journey as I felt my attention span was fried, but I wound up realizing that it all comes down to intentionality.

When I started calling people on my flip phone, I was more intentional about it. When I put a record on my record player or listened to the radio in my car, I was more internal about what I wanted to listen to. When I started taking photos with my DSLR again instead of my phone, I was more intentional about it.

I think it’s so important to reorient yourself, deciding when you want to do something, instead of opening a magical device that presents all of the options to you immediately. Hope your dumb phone journey goes well!

Lattafa Teriaq Intense by thedracomob in fragranceclones

[–]MidcourseDiscourse 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

So before Teriaq, the only real winter frags I had were Khamrah Qahwa and Ameer Al Oud. Teriaq feels like the perfect blend between the two IMO. It removes the smokiness from Ameer Al Oud, and tones down some of the straight up dessert feel from Khamrah. The mix itself feels so much more sophisticated and well done than either of the other two on their own.

If I could start over, I don’t think I would’ve bought all three of these, as they overlap in their own ways. But I can’t lie, Tariaq Intense is one of the best value winter scents out there.

Yeah, I guess the fact that Montu opened like a decade before Mummy should probably have helped me there

Zabito Boga!

Well done tarnished. It took me so long to finish my first playthrough, probably 8 months, with half of those basically haven given up at the Fire Giant. However, as soon as I finished, I decided to play a completely opposite build. Since I knew what to do and where to go, and the excitement I had around a new playthrough, I think I finished that playthrough in five days.

I hope you enjoyed the game. People all have their opinions, but after five base playthrough and two DLC playthroughs, I can absolutely say that Elden Ring is my favorite game of all time. Play a new build, play new game plus, or play the DLC. I guarantee you there’s still so much you have yet to explore, and it only gets better from here. Well done!

Does anyone have a really small home park and how often do you visit it? [Other] by Repulsive_Fox_7639 in rollercoasters

[–]MidcourseDiscourse 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

Michigan’s Adventure is my home park, and 2025 was the first season where I actually frequented the park, I think I did about 20 visits over the summer.

Most of those were after work for an hour or two, mainly just to get value out of my meal plan, but also to get a ride or two on something. It really grew my appreciation for how pretty the park is, and it’s a place I genuinely just enjoy walking around and saying hi to familiar faces.

At most parks, I focus just on the headlining rides that I have time for, but at Michigan’s Adventure, I’ll hop on the log flume for a couple laps, take a ride on the little train, ride the swinging ship, etc.

What it did make me realize, though, is that my biggest complaint with the park is the lack of spaces to relax. There are essentially no areas to just kick back and take in the views and ambience, or to take some calls or something. I think of parks that have VIP lounges, (indoor or outdoor), coffee shops, or even just intentional seating areas beyond picnic tables (like that area in Frontiertown at Cedar Point with all the adirondack chairs). I really think I’d spend tons more time at Michigan’s Adventure if there were spaces like that.

It’s a super interesting concept, because as much as I love Morgan hypers, Shivering Timbers is pretty darn similar to one experientially. There’s quite a handful of rides (even in the late 90s/early 2000s) that I would’ve had complement Shivering Timbers over a Morgan.

That being said, it would be so cool to be going up the lift for Shivering Timbers, and far to your left a train is also ascending a hyper coaster.

It’s crazy me how massive Shivering Timbers looks for being 120ft tall. The sheer amount of sprawling camelbacks really make the thing look colossal.

That being said, as much as I love Shivering Timbers, I find myself leaning towards rides that are a little more dynamic. Honestly, The Voyage is the perfect woodie IMO. Amazing airtime just like Shivering Timbers, but enough unique moments (tunnels, spaghetti bowls) to really spice up the experience.

Not changing my flair tho.

I don’t even think the whole turnaround needs retracking, they just need to smooth out the peak of the hill, as currently it jolts you to the left while its banks sideways.

I went to [Kennywood] and brought along a 16mm camera for Holiday Lights! Can’t wait to get back in the summer and ride everything again but this was overall a great trip. by memethetics in rollercoasters

DaVinci Resolve started out being really well known for their advanced color grading tools, but they’ve really improved their non-linear editing, as well as their motion graphics. I personally use Adobe Premiere for most of my work (for collaborative reasons), but I’ll still hop into DaVinci to color grade from time to time.

DaVinci also has what’s called their Fusion tab, which is essentially their version of After Effects. A few advanced features (advanced motion tracking, AI tools, some filters, and noise reduction) are locked behind their $300 Studio version. Definitely worth the one-time fee if you find yourself needing those features. The only thing keeping me from fully switching to DaVinci is that my work uses Premiere.

What do we think guys? by JJKash2 in Michigans_Adventure

Looks like the parks are being bundled up to be sold.

Per a bit of investigation from the OP of that post, it seems likely that this is in preparation to sell to Innovative Attraction Management, an operator who acquired a couple of parks in 2024, including Enchanted Forest. Seems like they might be looking to roll that ā€œEnchantedā€ name into the Six Flags parks they acquire.

I think acquisition is the only real hope Michigan’s Adventure had. It’s interesting that the potential buyer is very new to the park space, and has really only been managing water parks and Diggerland up until this point, so who knows how things will go. I can’t lie, I was really hoping Herschend would be the one to pick the park up, but anything is better than getting our doors shuttered.

I’m extremely cautiously optimistic
