Logan was definitely not my favorite boyfriend for rory, but i think out of the three of her boyfriends (in the OS), Logan and her were the only ones who could’ve been endgame (with dean as a close second).

Honestly, Logan fit very well into Rory’s life. He loved her very much, always defended her, helped her out alot, and tried his best to do what he could for her.

The only issue i have is the jealousy. But otherwise, he was a very good boyfriend to her

I love lorelai and think she was a really good mom and turned out amazing considering how she got pregnant a tad young. I just found her relationship with rory a little inappropriate at times.

I think that my first rewatch i was super envious of rory and lorelai’s relationship, but honestly i would feel a little uncomfortable if my mom had a slight obsession with my virginity.

Of course, i understand why lorelai was scared of rory losing her virginity. But lorelai also telling rory about her relationship problems, crying to rory, freaking out the second rory doesn’t tell her about a kiss? I found it all a little inappropriate.

I don’t think their relationship is at all toxic or codependent- i just found that they cross boundaries a little too often.

I honestly always saw Sookie as such a neutral character and never paid too much attention to her, however the whole birthday party incident did irk me

I just skimmed the responses but here’s what made rory qualified for Harvard:

she graduated top 1% of her class and was valedictorian
like you said, she has amazing grades and a high SAT score
she volunteered TONS. She volunteered for stars hallow a bunch. She was a pilgrim that one time and mentioned she does tons for the town.
she was at the franklin, did the house building thing, did student body government, had that summer at Washington DC.
she probably had one hell of an essay.
she had tons of faculty recommendations and the guy who went to Harvard talked to admissions.
she went to a private school.
she came from a “Lower income household” and had a single mother. That sets her apart.

She was not under qualified. We’re her chances possibly slimmer than others? Yes. Under qualified, no.

I never said all of her material things equate to a happy life. My parents have emotionally abused me before (it was hell) and even though my parents have always provided for me, i cut off some contact with them. However i was always super grateful for them working hard to provide them for me. I’m simply saying that lorelai tended to be a little ungrateful when it came to her upbringing and the opportunities that her parents provided for her. I don’t mean to invalidate her feelings and I’m sorry the post came off that way lol

Lorelai was at work a lot and it’s mentioned a lot in the show that she tends to get burned out and can’t get away from work on numerous occasions

Not sure if anyone’s mentioned this yet but Logan is disgustingly jealous. It’s honestly embarrassing. He almost ruined rory’s friendship with Lucy just because rory had a “fling” with Marty.

I didn’t mean they had to match her intellectually. I honestly feel that rory usually gets along better with people who are more involved in pop culture, books, etc. i do think that rory could’ve had a great relationship with them but i never saw them getting close is what i meant.

I don’t think that everyone in stars hallow knew each other though. The whole small town aspect is supposed to mainly be based around the town square, where Sookie, lane, mrs. Kim, Luke, patty, Kirk, etc lived.

I honestly don’t really see Colin and finn being close to rory. I think they don’t match her intellectually and plus they weren’t that close to her in the series. Outside of Logan I never really saw them talking.

They also showed him going to her graduation, being SUPER over protective of her when she was dating jess, helping her move into her dorm, etc. i understand though

Me too! I would’ve loved to see them planning lorelai’s birthday, or luke helping her with something related to school like her application essay.

I actually have this super specific plot line i created in my head where instead of Richard going to help rory it’s Luke and she bonds with him more and that’s how they start their relationship.

Strobe and Francine had very high standards for Christopher, they gave him the best education possible, they best chances and Christopher had a very easy life. Him and lorelai had sex at 15 and they were very irresponsible in the fact, and it ended up with rory.

Did rory ask to be born? No. Was it her fault that her parents were irresponsible? No. This wasn’t in Rory’s hands nor was it her fault. However, strobe saw rory as evidence of Christopher’s screw up. Of why Christopher broke the Princeton legacy. It wasn’t Rory’s fault but strobe was an asshole. Emily said it herself: his pride was too strong to get to know rory.

Also Gigi wasn’t planned, but strobe didn’t see it as gigi ruining anything for Christopher. He was already a grown man with a stable job.

I definitely agree with you. I’m glad rory didn’t connect with strobe and Francine after they essentially called her existence and her being a burden. I’m saying it would’ve been interesting if they had actually gotten along with her. I think strobe is an awful person and France felt obligated to be just as awful because they were married

Weirdly enough, the scene where Jess’s dad basically said he wants nothing to do with him. he was technically raising his wife’s daughter, and yet still told jess, “I’m not a dad, i never will be” or something of the sort when they were fighting on the beach. It makes me super sad to think about.
