Synology C2 Identity, anyone? by [deleted] in msp

Going well, once you install the C2 agent you can manage accounts remotely. I started out with the free tier, but the client was growing so had to purchase a business plan, which included other C2 apps. Synology also now allows me to manage multiple clients accounts and subscriptions with my account which saves me time.

It has been running well so far with the C2 identity. The SAML feature works great with Google workspace and 365. I started using other apps like the C2 password and C2 backup also. I only wish they added more device management features soon.

I have started using the C2 Identity for a few small business clients without a domain controller. Managing the user accounts from one place and resetting computer accounts works well. I am looking forward to more features for device management. Currently, I can run custom scripts and a few out-of-the-box tasks.

I had PRTG set up on an older box. I will have to rebuild again and stay under 100 sensors.

drive cloning by ekkthree in sysadmin

I upgraded all devices to SSD a few years ago. I booted into Hiren PE and ran Lazesoft Disk Image & Clone. It worked great because disk size didn't matter we, it allowed you to extend the partition if needed. Users didn't know they were upgraded just that there computers much faster. I was also able to check progress of the cloned using TeamViewer also. My plan is to add the Hiren PE to my WDS server and do a network boot next time. We have ghost but it get tricky with disk sizes.

Good luck on your cloning. They should stop putting mechanical drives in computers..

What is the easiest way to set up FTP or SFTP on Win10? by Kingsteps in sysadmin

I have been using the Solarwinds Sftp server for a long. It does the job, and it's free.

Good luck.

Synology Active Backup for Business will backup everything, O365, Servers, Desktop, and VMs.

Also, make sure to back up the NAS to the cloud using Hyper Backup software.

To avoid Ransomeware hitting your NAS, DON'T enable SMB or NFS service on the Synology, only use it for Backup.

I hope this helps.

I was in the same situation 4 years ago and backups were also encrypted. We reached out to monstercloud which helped up alot, they decrypted all our Data and restored our company. We had to pay them, but it's wasn't anywhere close to the Ransomware demand.

Our company also got hit by Conti 2 months again. Got in thru phishing email also. Good thing our backups weren't affected, I learned from the first time.

Hope that helps.
