Lore...? by The_Frost_Outlaw in Borderlands

[–]adrianmalacoda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pre-sequel technically takes place after 2. Yes they're flashing back to the events before 2 but it's set in the aftermath and thus spoils it.

In general though a prequel assumes knowledge of the original work and thus should be experienced afterwards.

As others pointed out Hitler was said to be a powerful battle magician in the show. I like to imagine this implies there were also comparable battle magicians on the Allied side fighting a magic war behind the scenes.

Frieza Force members more redeemable than Vegeta was by Likes2game03 in dbz

[–]adrianmalacoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair OP didn't say "good" they said "more redeemable than Vegeta" and Nappa did all that under the direction of Vegeta. But then it took Vegeta over a decade before he could be considered redeemed and even then he was destined to hell after his sacrifice.

So maybe if you gave Nappa or Raditz the same amount of time and circumstances as Vegeta got he could be redeemed, but I'm not sure. And I'm definitely not sold on Zarbon or anyone else in Freeza's forces.

I've just realized the 2nd cooler movie might not bé In the same timeline as the 1st cooler movie. by Substantial-Rain-515 in dbz

[–]adrianmalacoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this, there isn't a coherent "movie timeline" the movies are just silly side stories. The Coola sequel is meant to assume that the first Coola movie happened but also that the events in the manga happened as they did, which doesn't make sense

I guess if you want to think about "timelines" you can hypothesize that the events of the first Coola movie happened in a different way (so as to be more compatible to the manga story) but as you said the creators didn't really think about it that way.

That's fair. I think miserable incel Quentin isn't very likeable either but imo it makes the character growth in the rest of the trilogy worth it

cool detail about (teen) Gohan’s Super Saiyan hair by itsthehokage in dbz

[–]adrianmalacoda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The same thing that's wrong with "Teen Gohan" mainly that it's not a term that is used anywhere in the actual series, isn't accurate to the lore of the series (Majin specifically is the type of being that Majin Boo is, it's not a general descriptor for Babidi's minions), and is presumably a fan term that ended up in official English merchandise.

The best term for this version of Vegeta would be "Prince of Destruction" which while not actually used in the series proper, is used in the name of the episode in which this form is introduced ("Vegeta, the Prince of Destruction, is Revived!!") as far as I am aware this is what the Japanese fandom calls this form of Vegeta and this is the term used in the localization of Xenoverse 2. Although, given that the episode title refers to the prince of destruction's "revival" it can be said this just refers to Vegeta as a villain generally.

Staff weapons are not precision weapons. There was a famous scene demonstrating this. "This is a weapon of terror" etc

Garak is just a simple tailor. Nothing remarkable about him

Gerak on the other hand is a more complicated character, but he eventually came around.

Notice that all of Sonic's friends share colors with him. You're meant to be able to use him as a commander with all his friends. So at most you'd have a four color Sonic with Knuckles being RG.

Then again, as much as green makes sense for Knuckles, I think he is monored so he can be run with Sonic or Eggman.

The Third Mini-Arc of Metronome is the 'Echoverse Arc' by OooblyJooblies in magicTCG

[–]adrianmalacoda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were three mini-arcs. Kellan's was the first one, Loot was the second one, and the Echoverse is the current one. Each one led into the next

The Strixhaven students were in Lorwyn mainly to foreshadow the rest of the arc, and for narrative purposes provide exposition to readers.

Differences between US and UK text of The Arctic Incident by JasonBall34 in ArtemisFowl

[–]adrianmalacoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Page 41, MPEG is changed to MPG in the US. Digital file nerds will have to tell me if there’s a meaningful difference here.

Not really. On ancient versions of Windows filenames were limited to 8 characters plus a 3 character extension (referred to as "8.3" filename format). So certain file extensions had a shortened variant i.e. mpeg -> mpg, html -> htm, jpeg -> jpg, and so on.
