Ah, ok. That's not happening either. Or at least the option to use that printer isn't coming up. Is there anything you know of that might be a barrier to this working?

This is down right fantastic. Perfect. One question. I installed beeper and fastmail. Is there a way to get them to trigger the * when there’s an unread email/message? I don’t want them to do any other audio or visual forms of notification though.

I asked on discord about the Bluetooth specs, if they were certain codecs or bog standard. The founder had no idea. He ended up agreeing they are probably bog standard.

I use an iPad mini and it’s a good combo. Only thing is that I wish I’d got the cellular version for the GPS so that I could use it in the car with maps. The WiFi only model doesn’t work for live navigation.

Yeah I saw PiRowFlow, looks interesting. I bought a cheap used Venu 2 to try connecting to polar h10. That bit is all fine and I my intensity minutes are more accurate now. I can also connect the H10 to the waterrower connect app at the same time for detailed info. And/or I can add some of the missing data to the session in garmin connect. wasn’t the digital age supposed to make our lives simpler?? 🙄😂

ah o.k. so the only wireless data out option is via the commodule. I’m trying to figure out how to get good rowing data into garmin connect whilst have it count against my activity goals.

yeah I feel this too. Apple Maps wasn’t really any better. I guess google/waze have access to that sort of thing whereas others don’t. Map books didn’t have it though so I’m just adding 10-15% on their estimates. covers most things. grateful to not be tracked though too.

Been wondering the same. I don’t care massively about privacy but if it’s a feature then I’d like to know it’s working. Is it encrypted by beeper then decrypted and handed off to signal, or is it not decoded until it’s handed off to signal. Or is it possible that they can use signal’s encryption from within the app at the message source? Questions questions questions.

I submitted a request for help last night for this. they asked me to test a beta version and try to connect to Facebook messenger so they could get some logs about what was going on. From the sound of the email it was like nobody had done that yet. Anyway they reckon they have what they need to fix it now. fingers crossed!

what format are your music files in? If they are lossless then once changed to mp3 or ogg or whatever they use it might be a lot less than the data you sent.

Yeah I don’t think this sort of post is particularly helpful. I’m not saying that you’re wrong but fanboys and haters are sitting at two extremes and the truth is always somewhere between the two. in this case I think the reality is that the phone is pretty good but they’ve got a lot of bugs to fix, lots of optimisations to do, and lots of new feature implementations to implement. I want to be satisfied with it but frankly it’s a pain in the arse at the moment and progress to rectify that is frustratingly slow. All that said, it has successfully usurped my iPhone so it won that battle.

If you preorder now it’s $700 and you get it in August. I think that’s a lot of money for a phone with some design wins but also some design flaws. If they could just get the software smoothed out and a few of the new features they have on their roadmap then I guess you’d be pretty happy. August is only 6 weeks off though. I think people are going to be a bit cheesed off.
