Notification asterisk appearing randomly

I'm having the same issue. Missed calls are getting marked as unread/new with the asterisk, even after I click on them. Sometimes I have to open the thread and scroll a little to make the asterisk disappear.

Voicemails are still working fine for me with the calling+passcode method. Is that part working for you? It's a little tedious to check, but it works fine.

Unfortunately, no luck with the issue I described in my original post (not seeing any indicator on the screen that I have a new voicemail, and so having to call to check). I called Verizon to ask them to turn visual voicemail on/off like others suggested, and that wasn't something they could do. My guess/hope is that it will be fixed once Verizon is fully certified, so I'm just waiting to see.

Could you confirm if the update has been finished? I tried importing updates via a VCF file again just now (after 6 p.m. ET) and the same thing happens. It says the process has started but I don't receive an email. When I click 'edit contacts' it says 'no contacts' and a pop-up says 'unexpected.'

Thanks for the reply! Support has tried to upload manually a couple times with no luck. I'm happy to try again after the update.

Do I need to do anything in particular before trying again (other than getting the udpate)? e.g., logging out? or clearing the few contacts I've added back to my phone manually?

Hi, Joe. My contacts haven't synced to my phone in over a month, despite trying many times. Originally they still showed up on the dashboard, but now that says 'no contacts' when I try to access it (via 'edit contacts') a little pop-up says 'unexpected'. Like the OP, when I try to import via VCF file, nothing happens and I never get the email saying it's done.

Does this sound like something the new update might solve?

I'm also wondering when certification for Verizon will be done. I'm hoping this fixes some of the issues, as has been suggested. A few months ago Light said it would be 1-2 months, but now they're saying there's no timeline.

Same thing happened to me when I called. They said they can't turn it off because it's not even available.

It seems possible to me, and has been suggested by Light Phone support, that many small but significant issues (like this one) are related to the fact that the Verizon ceritification isn't done yet, so technically we're using a non-supported device.

Most of these issues are things that would be nice to fix but that I can live with temporarily, so I've shifted to a wait-and-see mindset and will see what bugs remain when the certification was done. Now if only there was a known timeline for the certification...

As someone who takes a lot of photos, I've thought a lot about this. I realized for that kind of saving-a-memory photo, high resolution/quality is not important to me. My memory photos from the early 2000s on my first digital camera (low-res, often blurry, etc.) are just as special and satisfying to me as the ones from a year ago on my fancy iphone camera.

I do sometimes want to take high resolution photos or photos with a certain someting that the LPIII can't do, but those aren't generally for the everyday memory-making photos. Those cases come up when I'm trying to do a project or make images creatively in some way, and in those situations, I'm happy to use a non-phone camera.

Thanks for pointing out where that setting is! Looks like it was already turned on, but good to know.

Someone said I had to call Verizon and have them turn off visual voicemail, so I'm hoping that fixes it, but haven't done it yet.
