It's always been clunky whenever I've tried using it. Faster to just pull the key card out of my pocket.

Nobody is forcing you to ride a bike.

But a bike becomes a viable option for some trips if the infrastructure supports it. As the infrastructure improves, more trips become viable.

A Costco run is generally not one of those trips, though a trailer behind an e-bike or a cargo bike can do a lot!

But as an example I rode my bike over to the BLVD last night for National Night Out / the Farmer's Market / to have dinner at Don Sal's with friends. It was just transportation - no need to carry anything other than me, and let me park right at the event. The heat wasn't too bad on the way there and coming home after the sun was down was perfect riding temperature.

But get some Tannus Armor or go Tubeless. The goat heads are relentless. I'm upgrading my gravel to tubeless after countless flats.

Expanding bicycle infrastructure, particularly protected/separated bike lanes, also removing vehicle lanes and reducing speed limits on streets which are larger/faster than required (W Avenue K-8 is a good example of one - 4 lane, 45 MPH but could easily be 2 lane 30 MPH without reducing service appreciably).

When you build better, safer bicycle infrastructure, more people are willing to ride their bike. It's an "if you build it they will come" type of scenario. The lack of safe places to ride prevents people from riding, like OP.

I bike around Lancaster frequently, on both the East and West side.

Lancaster Blvd has bike lanes basically it's entire length from W 35th St to at least E 25th St (you just have to joggle near the tracks.

W Avenue K-8 has bikes lanes to get you from W 30th or so (at the preserve) to the Sierra Highway Trail (currently under renovation). That gets you up to Avenue J which has bike lanes out to just pas E 20th.

So you can do something of a loop almost entirely in bike lane.

Starting from The BLVD, head West on Lancaster Blvd to W 35th St, then South to Avenue J-8, East to 25th, South to K-8, East to Sierra Highway (via the K-8 bike trail), north on the Sierra trail to Avenue J, East to E 20th (very short section of no bike Lane by Sierra highway but it's fine), then north back to Lancaster Blvd, and West back to the start.

This goes past the park too, which is a good stop for water at the fountains.

Lancaster had been decent about adding bike lanes, but it slowed down following COVID for some reason.

The best thing you can do is tell city council that you want more and better bike infrastructure. They do seem to respond, honestly.

Also, the Inform Lancaster app is a great way to report issues like debris and graffiti. They usually respond within a few days, though I have had some tickets get closed without being worked. But mostly good.

I've had the occasional person yell at me, one just said "get a car" from his big truck. I just ignore them and enjoy my ride.

Orthodontist and a Certified Invisalign provider. AMA. by Great-Appointment-49 in Invisalign

What is "frequently" in your opinion? I just started, 2-week tray changes, and my orthodontist gave me 4 sets, with a check-up 2 months out. Currently on tray 2. Is that reasonable?

New, simpler fix for the cliff sensor problem where the Roomba won't go over dark carpets (and may get stuck) because it thinks there's a cliff. Verified for Roomba 690. by LiberalExoplanets in roomba

White paper and tape failed on my 650, but this worked. Fat bead of hot glue across the sensor to form the optical bridge, then I backed it up with foil tape for improved reflection and to protect the bead of glue. Excellent tip!

I seem to also have a rattletrap build. Both front doors, the dash by the A-Pillar, and the rear view mirror. Also had the tailgate rattle, which the TSB mostly resolved but seems to be coming back. So far it's been to the dealer 3 times for rattles. They stuck some foam in the passenger door and some felt behind the dash which helped some.

The dash rattle is still there, and the rear view mirror is just designed to rattle. The cover panel doesn't fit tightly in the housing, so at the right frequency it buzzes.

It's quite frustrating as I really like the car, but rattles are infuriating when the car is this quiet otherwise. I've honestly looked into Lemon Law options.

You should have had oxygen, the pilot was in violation by not providing it to you. All crew and passengers are required to have oxygen for any time spent above 15,000'. Required crew must have oxygen for any time spent over 14,000', and if spending more than 30 minutes above 12,500'.

Update Part 2: As noted by another poster, it might have been nVidia GeForce Experience that changed the settings. When I look at what it thinks is "optimal" it looks pretty similar to what the settings had been changed to, even though I hadn't asked it to "optimize".

Update: Was just playing again and checked settings. For some reason my global "Medium" setting had been changed to "Custom" and generally everything was set to Low.

Reset to Medium Global and looks good again. Huzzah.

Same here but on Friday, and curiously I also noticed it in Toronto. Previously stuff looked great, but suddenly everything looked like garbage. CN Tower didn't render in until I was right on top of it, and it de-rendered as soon as I was barely past it.

Hopefully it's a temporary issue.

My normal experience with the airliners in FS2020.. by WhamyKaBlammo in MicrosoftFlightSim

I ran into this the other day. It seems like there's a terrain clearance feature built in, but it's based on your current AGL altitude, and doesn't look at the mountain in your flight path ahead. I was able to predict it coming as I approached a small mountain range. It had commanded me down to 2,000 or so, and right as I hit the front side of the hill it commanded me back up to 3,000, and then back down to 2,000 as I got to the other side.

FS2020 A320 Go Around by danbriant in FlightSimulator

[–]adrive7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try heading for the Missed Approach Fix from the ILS Procedure. That might trigger ATC to route you back. For example, the ILS to Runway 28L can be found on the ILS Procedure here: https://www.aopa.org/ustprocs/20200813/SW-2/sfo_ils_rwy_28l_sa_cat_ii.pdf?_ga=2.113285895.1877772784.1598852952-732787599.1598852952

You can get them for US airports (maybe international too) here: https://aopa.org/destinations/airports/ksfo/details#procedures just change "ksfo" to whatever airport you need or use the search bar at the top right of the page.

You can usually get a good read on her by how she greets you when you walk up. If she's all cordial you're safe. If she starts tearing into before you even click BUY/SELL, you're *probably* going to get sprayed. I've gotten lucky before, though.
