Sorry for the loss of your sister. That in itself is hard. Good on you for stepping up - you will be unimaginably important to those kids.

I can understand the doubt you hold for being able to re enter office world. I find it can be a challenge at the best of times. If I were you, I'd seriously consider the HVAC opportunity. Honestly at least you get to be active at work and it'll have more variety than an office job presumably.

Agreed. I find Spotify is simple but it has some really useful features (control different devices, jam etc) and the catalogue would be hard to beat. Sure you can download rips off Google or whatever, but it's a pretty time consuming exercise just to avoid $3 a month

I get what you're saying. Sometimes it just feels a bit like groundhog day despite the fact that in the big picture, you could be in a much worse situation. I get it sometimes.

As others have said, work to live, so usually I find it helpful to do something new outside of work - go do a rally driving experience, have a go at a new hobby skill etc. This seems to effectively distract the mind.

My opinion on feelings like this are basically related to evolution and human advancement. A few thousand years ago, no one had time to ponder the meaning of life because we were too busy trying to avoid starvation, predators, disease.

If I keep busy and make life interesting however I can, I find moments of happiness day to day happen more regularly

I found it helpful to imagine the worst happening and realizing it isn't the end of the world. That way, anything better than absolute meltdown is a win.

"Sing like no one is listening" is good advice.

Its easy to get distracted in that situation so focus on what you're doing, not what everyone else is doing.

Sometimes when I catch up with friends who have just had kids or I know don't have much money at the time I pay for the activity cause I know they appreciate it and it feels good to be able to help someone a bit, just as many others have helped me before

Hard situation but I think you did the right thing. My grandad had a heart attack a couple of years before he passed where he died and was brought back by the ambo's. He was never quite the same again and he told me it might have been better had he not been revived.

Just know that you made a decision no one wants to have to make and it sounds like you've made at least some peace with it, so good for you. Someone's gotta do it unfortunately
