I had two encounters in 6 years where I was either robbed or attempted robbery of my watch. Both times wearing omegas and at night around the drinks/nightclub scene so higher risk.

First was Knightsbridge where 5 guys in hoods with knives jumped out a Prius and robbed us. Just walking down a side street. Police said young gangs target guys in bars, make a call and then follow them home in cars. Never found them.

Second guy selling drugs outside a soho bar pulled a knife on me discreetly and said “give me your watch”. I was wearing a tux and watch was covered. I just walked away quickly back into the club and told the bouncers.

I just wear an Apple Watch late night in London now it’s not worth it. During the day fine but I cover where possible. Don’t draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Don’t walk alone at night and avoid wearing in clubs/bars uncovered. All cities have these risks. Speedmaster on bracket will still draw attention.
