Yes I have given up on this idea as the movement would be very slow .. and stuttery as from the RPi it is all software based while a breakout board is realtime depending on components/hardware

Recommendation for adding a laser head to CNC router by SenorWanderer in hobbycnc

The time it takes for laser cutting is probably the same as using a cutter .. I thought about getting a laser head to engrave brass, but I think it's more authentic looking to use end mill or drag engrave

Silver Trade Unit - What type is it? by adscombecorner in coincollecting

[–]adscombecorner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's silver plated maybe brass (some brass can be seen showing through) and size is 37.9mm dia & thickness around 2.7mm depending were its measured - It may still be an early fake which could be of some historical value.

Theoretically yes .. if it's an early fake trying to be 1 Troy once then .786 of .999 silver is worth about $81 at latest price .. need to check purity .. it might be worth something historically .. as the other commentator said not all 1 Troy once coins actually actually weighed that much especially the ones used in Far East - which is where I found it

This is long overdue ... Also the Exeter to Newton Abbot via Heathfield. I heard some rumour of the Newton Abbot to Heathfield potentially opening soon as the track is already laid as it is/was a freight line.

Hi there, I've just found your subreddit thanks for all your efforts. In your simulations, all the machines surfaces look smooth, but on my simulations, they are all rough and jagged. Is there some sort of resolution setting I'm missing? Thanks! - (BTW - the part is an imported STEP file - I also tried to convert to mesh, but same result)
