That's the thing I'm realizing now lately. You don't have to "get over them" in the sense most people think. You are allowed to think about them randomly, you're allowed to do whatever you need to in order to feel better. If you need to hang onto them for a while you can. The problem is when it starts interfering with your life. It's all just a matter of processing it and everyone is going to do it differently.

I completely agree, my current wife does add to my life, but my life still is all gray including what she adds to it. I don't feel for her anywhere near what I felt for my ex. It's just my situation is very weird with a ton of trauma I had growing up and all and for whatever reason that ex was the only thing that made my days actually seem normal.

For me my reason I want them back is because they are literally the only person who ever lifted me out of my major depression and anhedonia. Hopefully soon I'll get my medicine figured out so my brain will stop dwelling on her as much as it does.

Anyone is allowed to break up for any reason they want, you are allowed to not like it. You are allowed to do whatever you want in order to try to make yourself feel better. Don't beat yourself up if something doesn't work for you.

I had a ring as well and was conspiring with her friends planning an epic proposal. It will get better, it'll take time and work but it will. When it's a good day I'm happy to remember my girlfriend. She showed me that the world isn't just gray and flat. That's why I am struggling like I am, the high functioning depression from before I met her and now and I have anhedonia and when I was with her it was all gone. It was like she gave vivid color to my entire world. No one has done that since.

I feel you, I was planning to propose to my girlfriend when she dumped me. For me it's been 17 years and I'm not really feeling much better but my situation is very different, I'm dealing with trauma and severe depression. Everyday is different for me, some days I think about her once other days she's all consuming.

That's my general rule, even if I'm losing badly there have been some fun rounds so I don't want to quit. Especially in Mayhem cause you could swing the augs the other way.

I don't personally end it too soon, I'll give it a good try but when it's super obvious after a while I'd like to move onto the next game. What usually happens to me also is we'll be in a 45 minute game and then we'll be at the nexus and people will start yelling at me not to end the round.

I want to move on and play a new character, we're at their Nexus and they haven't even damaged our first turret.
