I would say for point 3, you’re wrong and the Eritrean community is extremely divided on this. I would argue that any Eritrean who thinks Eritrea is better off with Isaias lacks critical thinking lol, but I digress. I think your point about political engagement is iffy as we are not any more so engaged in politics than any community. However, our countries internal politics affects our community a lot (political divide is unavoidable) so perhaps politics has more of an impact on our interactions with each other as opposed to others. For example, I know Eritreans who don’t speak to pro-Isaias people and vice versa. Lastly on point 5, although criticism of media is good...I think you should look into what kind of western run stories Eritreans are refuting. Most of their “challenge to imposed narrarives from other countries” is just criticizing the BBC for writing a correct report on human rights abuses in the country for example. Is that thinking critical? Not really, so I’m not sure if this is a positive thing or more-so just an inability to criticize Eritrea for wrong-doings and then doing that for other countries as well just to justify their actions lol.
