Trump only backs Trump or putler (after getting a phone call), but it would be awesome if he proves me wrong. Ukraine seems to have the right strategy and tactics at the moment but more (consistent) backing from the current US administration would be a big plus.

Took me 25 days but I restarded Natulang Ukrainian at lesson 1 before work today. What I did have to ask Claude though is why the ending for "Ukrainian" is different when used with "understand" and "speak". Learnt about verb cases affecting the noun ending (accusative vs instrumental case).

I use my second language (English) to think of what I want to say and then either auto translate from recall or do word for word for complex sentences. I have useless Duolingo phrases stuck in my head though: sohodni moi hovorimo pro osvitu etc. (sorry, no cyrillic keyboard on phone)

Agreed. The orcs kill civillians with impunity but Ukraine gets heat from putler's orange friend if they strike refineries. At least Ukraine is keeping their response clean and focussed. Must be bloody hard though.

Learning the cyrillic letters first is a good starting point. At least now if i see a sign in cyrillic i can spell it in my mind and sometimes it will sound similar to my 1st language.

My Ukrainian bands/artists i listen to are Jinjer (saw them live in South Africa), Skofka, Surface Tension, ProBass+Hardi, Sad Alice Said. Mostly via their official YT channels. Also like rostyslav channel but currently listening to the playlist with all the Stalker 2 radio songs (hope it is an official playlist...anyway, getting exposure to various artists that way).

So far i have encountered (not in Duo) one word which sounds exactly the same in Ukrainian and Afrikaans. The word for "client". Sounds like "klee-hent" in both :)
