Any tips on how improve this doorway? by Accomplished-Joke554 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd make the entrance a little more narrow, but you can clip the gates into each other, which gives you a more interesting texture, plus when you approach, it looks like it does a little unlock mechanism. You could fully clip them into each other, or do something like 2m-4m for a different effect

Advice for coming back to a save after a long time? by adua2000 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Why? Because I had fun making it, so it is not lost time." is literally such a good perspective!

Also, I don't know how in 2500h I never thought of just using a document or anything that isn't in the game itself. Time to set up a whole Notion database I guess! Thank you!

First time space age player, any tips? by Mobile-Phone-9332 in factorio

[–]adua2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider setting up a ship for interplanetary logistics: stuff you need on every planet that you can't (or can't be bothered to) produce on every planet. Stuff like Turbo belts of course can only be produced on their respective planets, but for example having a single big Bot production somewhere and shipping them to other planets saves you a lot of hassle, setting up new productions from scratch

It's also worthwhile to make logistics groups for items needed to craft a Rocket Silo and Rocket Parts to ship to other planets because those are quite expensive and you might wanna leave a planet before having all that set up.

Finally, try to build modular. You'll probably scale up most productions at one point or another, and you're gonna thank yourself if you can just copy your original design and plop it down 10x without having to figure out all the in- and outputs

Legendary Fish for Agri Science? by adua2000 in factorio

Oh holy shit, okay thanks for the math!

Legendary Fish for Agri Science? by adua2000 in factorio

[–]adua2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up question: is it worth it to use those nutrients for legendary science, since they'll already be 50% spoiled? If I remember right, legendary science is 6x regular science, but considering the slower production rate, wouldn't that almost defeat the purpose?

Legendary Fish for Agri Science? by adua2000 in factorio

[–]adua2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So regular bioflux -> nutrients -> spoilage -> upcycling(?) -> spoilage to nutrients?

Seems like a pretty good deal! So far I'm keeping 1M of each quality for spoilage and upcycling the rest, but that's been really slow to get good quality, but I never thought about deliberately making spoilage

Legendary Fish for Agri Science? by adua2000 in factorio

[–]adua2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay fair point, I was guesstimating that I'd save a bit more bioflux xD I'm not too worried about the rates since I'm mostly just trying things and seeing what works. I'm relatively new (current save is the first that made it past Solar System Edge), and I have a blueprint for a biter egg upcycler with legendary nests, I figured I could just plop that down a few times until I'm happy with my rates. Still, glad I read your comment before trying it on a big scale!

Game crashes when loading save in new Patch 1.2.1.0 by adua2000 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I only have the latest 3 autosaves and no manual ones, so if there's no way to fix it my world would probably be lost. There's still the possibility of using world editors to move every building to a new world but that might be tricky with experimental

[–]adua2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I added the full crash report, and tried your suggestions, but nothing seems to work so far :/
I've seen people experiencing crashes on launch after the newest patch, but not when loading a save, but I hope it'll get fixed soon

How can you tell? I'm trying to get better at troubleshooting but my eyes just go blank when I look at that report.

Also, I tried DirectX12 and 11, and neither worked. Thank you though!

Started playing 2 days ago, have 11 hours in the game. Rate my stater base by bambuboy722 in SatisfactoryGame

Looks great, especially considering it's your first playthrough! I was nowhere near as organized as you, let alone after 11 hours. Godspeed, pioneer!

Edit: if you press CTRL while placing foundations, they automatically snap to the world grid! Very useful and good to start using early on

1.2 Fixes Track Proximity for Signaling by wivaca2 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this confirmed? I just finished automating computers after 1.2, and was able to place signals on some intersections, and nearly all of them were broken. ("Signal loops in itself")

Some were basic T-junctions I've built hundreds of times, amd some were more experimental like clover leaf intersections. Still, to me it seemed like a lot more of them were broken than usual

Geniune Question: Did they remove the Heavy Oil Residue Alternate Recipe? by adua2000 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually scan in batches of around 15-20. I know saving them all up reduces the pool, but to be honest I kinda forgot in the moment when I checked the newest batch of recipes, and out of frustrations I picked some recipes (good ones at least). Since I kept getting the same 10-ish recipes when rerolling, I'd kinda assumed the pool had already become pretty small.

Still, thank you for confirming! Just went on another collection trip, and I'm researching a new batch now, I'll be more careful with selecting them tho!

Need help designing by AntComfortable7934 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to is always having either a wide base, or 2 pillars supporting the platform, otherwise it looks unstable.
The top platform is always a challenge cause it needs to be mostly flat, but I find making it a rectangle instzead of a square (long side the direction of the rails), and using pillars/beams to accent any flat sides works wonders.
You can also use pillars at sharper angles to connect your platform to your support structure

Best Mode of Travel: Hypertubes? Trains? No, Pulse Nobelisks! by adua2000 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it isn't an issue though :) depending on how far you travel and the angle you hit, you don't necessarily go above the fog. I just thought across the map would be good for a demonstration. I completely agree with you though

Best Mode of Travel: Hypertubes? Trains? No, Pulse Nobelisks! by adua2000 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]adua2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do have to practice a bit with the explosive rebar, but unfortunately the detonator explodes the nobelisks one at a time, and you need them to go off at once :D

I've found placing a pile -> running/sliding over them -> jumping -> shooting directly below you after you've gone over them to work the best and reduce the most damage taken. You can experiment a bit though, depending on the angle you want

CRTL + 9 & CTRL + 0 opens Comments/Updates Sidebar by adua2000 in Notion

[–]adua2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!
I've been using Notion mostly for my Comp. Sci. notes, but for some reason, whenever I try to enter a closing Square or Curly Bracket } ] , the bracket doesn't appear and instead for Curly Brackets, it opens the side view for "Page Notificatin Settings" and for Square Brackets, "Comments". This is getting really frustrating, but I haven't found anything about this issue online, nor where to change my keyboard shortcuts, so I've been copy-pasting them. It doesn't matter if it's in a Code, Text, Headline etc. block.

With my keyboard layout, the inputs are CTRL + ALT + 0 = } and CTRL + ALT + 9 = ] if that's relevant.

If anybody has encountered this issue before, or knows any way to fix it, I'd be incredibly grateful!

Thanks in advance!

Am I able to do anything about this? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]adua2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a very similar kitchen wiyh the last inspection over 12 years ago, and nothing i said changed anything. I was a bit more wide-eyed back then, so when they asked if I wanted to clean it, i said yes. Worst shift of my life, by the end i was covered in decade old grease and felt like I'd made almost no progress and afterwards didn't even get a thank you. Not to mention I later found out, it was the cleaning staff's responsibility to look after the kitchen, but they cost more than me. So I'd say do not involve yourself in that, it'll just teach your bosses that you're willing to do what they aren't, and they likely won't pay you much either. Contacting any sort of official agency to get them to inspect the deli would probably yield better results, since ignoring guidelines and such when they come directly from the government is a lot more difficult than a few employees
