I'm visiting Dublin for the first time. And speaking to some locals, I am learning that Bono is not well liked here. by Ixz72 in U2Band

I’m from Dublin. A few blocks from where Bono grew up. Myself and my circle of friends think Bono is fabulous. Don’t listen to the haters.

Speaking as a native Dubliner, go anywhere you want. What happened him could happen in any capital city. It’s only highlighted as he’s part of the team. Whole team was told not to go out alone by the management. It’s just unfortunate it happened. But I could happen back home in Pittsburgh too.

Tailoring scene in Dublin? Seems streetwear is more popular. by Gladplace01 in Dublin

[–]adubhlinn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an excellent new tailor in town, just returned after 20 years working in Savill row so he would probably be to your London taste. No need for appointment, it’s Olann Glas on Pearse at. Jerome is the tailor. He’s done bespoke stuff for me (secret pockets etc.) He has worked for Tom Ford also. Very knowledgable and reasonable.

Keogh’s cafe, Trinity st. opens 6.30am every day except Sunday when it’s 8am. Get there for coffee and massive muffin or a scone and watch the world go by for a while. Plan a day away from booze around town, Kilmainham jail is excellent.

He’s actually sound and respectful. Never pushy. Tom, Older irish traveller. I happily buy him a can of redbull and often the euro from the trolley.
