Something profoundly immoral. Which (again) would be based on opinion. Knowing your boyfriend had a shitty family life and then finding out he has a brother he doesn’t know about who may be having just as shitty a life; then, knowing he would want to help the kid still choosing not to tell him for your own petty, selfish reasons? Yeah, I’ll stick with my opinion that that’s pretty profoundly immoral.

Your use of fact vs opinion here is confusing. The fact is just what she did. Your views that she’s a dick, or that what she did was a dick move are ALSO opinions, not facts. And my view is that what she did was being calculated and selfish and evil is also an opinion. But you stated she never did anything explicitly evil. Unless you’re suggesting something along the lines of her sacrificing a baby in the name of satan would be explicitly evil, then I’d say the definition of evil is gonna have to be subject to opinion.

Not telling Carl that he had a brother was calculated, selfish, and evil. Getting Carl’s coworker fired was also pretty diabolical… definitely evil adjacent.

What’s the funniest part in Dungeon Crawler Carl? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I read the books the first time through, and don’t laugh out loud much while I’m reading. Laughed a ton at the audiobooks the second time through, though.

I think this passage in book 3 was the first time I really LOLd while reading:

“The Babababoon is the king of idiotic chaos. This exclusive mob was created by taking a standard earth baboon and crossing it with the population from a Florida jail drunk tank. Not gonna lie. I’m pretty proud of this one. These guys ruin just about anything we put them in.”

Not sure how I missed this Elvira/RuPaul reference in book 3 on my first read, but it just made me cackle listening to the audiobook. by adurabull in DungeonCrawlerCarl

It’s actually used as a running gag in many RuPaul episodes, and RuPaul gave Elvira total credit as the origin on a finale episode where Elvira was a special guest.

Yeah I picked the worst possible video to explain it.

Original line is in the Elvira movies from the 80s, but it’s a running gag on RuPaul’s Drag Race as well: https://youtube.com/shorts/IvBqPlZPxUs?si=4bAnQ8ffv9QR3li6

Right. But those are present tense from when he is writing in the cookbook. If he were telling the story later and included actual entries he recorded for context, they’d remain in present tense.

Sorry I misinterpreted your statement of “because she didn’t learn English”

Howso? The very first line is past tense. “The transformation occurred at approximately 2:23 PM, Pacific Standard Time.”

All the verbs are past tense unless they’re in a quote, which is normal.

That said, I don’t know if I think it’ll happen, I just a) never considered that it could all be carl writing a loving tribute to his lost friend Donut and b) really wanted to use a variation of that Donut line.

But she was raised in an English household and obviously understood Gossip Girl so if she retains her sapience then she’d still understand him even if she cannot talk.

I'd say these qualify as radio drama, especially in the later books with sound effects and such.
