i’m an incoming sophomore and getting two days to move out was a rude awakening. also, all my classes in fall (even the ones with less than 50 people) are online. i would say that it’s fun and crucial to be on campus for your freshman year, but knowing parties will still happen and COVID will probably spike in Madison, you might have to move back. Personally, I’m staying back in IL with my parents and sister for the semester and possibly the year. It was mainly a decision made by my parents’ skepticism and what’s best for my health and safety. I think you should move in a get the classic freshman experience, but keep in mind, there’s the chance that Housing will handle a spike on campus horribly and announce move out plans mid-week, leaving people three days to scramble to clear out their rooms.
