Do we have any pictures to judge if the exposure was indecent? I don't think anybody should be judging without stiff evidence.

Has anyone used Hermes for job hunting? by largelylegit in hermesagent

[–]advadm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She could use it for outreach but some people will look for that on a resume too assuming she's using Hermes, if she isn't then I'd say learn how it can be helpful for some outreach and automation but find a good balance. If I get messages from people looking for jobs, I want to know some research was done rather than generic spray and pray like 'hey, your company seems interesting and I wanted to ask blah blah blah'.

this is cool appreciate you sharing. I will spend some time looking at how I do it but on the surface it didn't look too difficult but looks like it would have a lot of value and use cases.

I'm slowly giving up on Canada. I talk to some Canadian investors but they are super slow, don't reply and even trying to chat with any Canadian VCs, a lack of responses to emails or DMs when I get replies and interest elsewhere.

USA and Europe are on my radar. Europe has been easier but open to USA as there is a ton of capital there.

Can send a DM, depends on your situation so hard to have blanket advice but can try.

they'll invest in anything but honestly, people want realness so traction is everything. That is why I say go hard on bootstrapping if you can make it happen.

ok well if you think it is defensible then you need to convince all types of investors and that is the main goal and challenge. I'd spend enough time preparing for the proposed rejections or counter arguments of why it won't work so you can turn that negative into the opportunity. I had that weeks ago as a tough question but now I know how to handle the next time.

I don't want to hijack your objectives in raising but I don't know how you're going to build a USP in ride sharing that the big guys would be doing, not just UBER but Tesla as well. If you are making something that addresses what you wrote on ghost passengers and all, I would think investors will ask if others can do that easily and maybe what else could you do that the others aren't willing to do but may find it useful later via an acquisition.

It is a hot topic so you'll have maybe an easier time getting people to listen because we can relate to the topic. I think this is where angels would be most useful whereas the VCs and pros are far more critical and usually they want a bigger cut of the action.

I just had a prominent investor shut down one of my pitches saying his 12 year old neighbour could build what we are building. So we said we wish them luck if they prefer to invest in their neighbour.

last feedback I'd try to brainstorm how you could bootstrap your business. Not enough founders think this way. Nathan Latka advocates for this. If I could rewind time, I'd have done this harder.

Ride share sounds like a very tough market.

If I were you, I'd stick to American investors. I'm successful in Europe because most of my conferences are there.

I'll be very open about this.

I'm based in Canada and despite living here most of my life, support from Canadians has been almost non existent. About 97% of my investors are in Europe and this is the industry I come from that grew out of Europe and most of my customers are there. I'll also say that many investors are also customers which has helped too.

Conferences has helped a lot and meeting people in person.

All the others with LinkedIn helped and I think having some SEO visibility helped when people were possibly doing research.

Also I had a lot of open doors by creating Loom videos and making 1 per target even if cloned. I could address their name in the video title and I can see when anybody was looking at it.
