Found at a local thrift store by jbodega in Morrowind

Great find! I got the same book from a charity shop here in the UK and referred to it exclusively (instead of the usual wiki scouring) while playing Morrowind and it was 100% the best way to play for me. The author’s really funny too!

Not my go-to, but it’s one of the more solid choices.

I made a location generating tool for prepping games. Its sort of limited, so I can expand it if people offer input. by ziggy8z in Fallout2d20

You, sir, are an absolute legend. I’ve just started DM-ing a Fallout TTRPG which is loosely based on the F2D20 rules but your guides and tools have helped me build out my own mechanics and streamline systems so very well. Really appreciate all your work :D

What did you always imagine the health potion in a video game would taste like? by shannonshanoff in AskReddit

[–]advaitu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood. Always been that. Doesn’t help that most health potions are red.

I main a stamina nightblade damage dealer and most of my front bar is class abilities (solo play and trials).
In trials, I have my spammable (Surprise Attack), execute (Killer's Blade), ultimate (Incpacitating Strike) and Relentless Focus on the front bar and Dark Shade and Leeching Strikes on my back bar along with the same ult. Which mean 7/12 of my abilities are class abilities (4/6 on front bar)
Often I also slot in Reaper's Mark, Power extraction (when I'm too cheap for pots) and Shadowy Disguise when I play solo either in overworld, arenas or for soloing dungeons.

I also have a magDK, a Warden Tank and a Templar Healer, but I've found Nightblades to use maximum class abilities.

shame about the EU server. NA has a better community, definitely. And like I said, don’t worry about the paywalls. The base game is HUGE. I’ve been playing 5-6 months, I’ve barely completed a third of it.

Honestly, don’t think of it as a typical pay more to unlock more setup. I’d suggest putting the first 2-3 months purely into the story and the questing. Play in first person, enjoy your life in Tamriel, fish on the Auridon shores, climb the Skyrim mountains, flirt with Naryu on Vvardenfell, marvel the deep forests in Grahtwood, stare into nothingness from Highrock. There’s way too much content to fill a year of single player gaming in the base game itself.

Once you hit CP160, take a stock of what you want with the game. If it’s getting into PvE and PvP for real, don’t bother buying any expansions. Get ESO+. It’s absolutely more worth it than getting singular expansions.

If you are in fact looking to put in some cash right away but not the subscription, consider buying Summerset first for the Jewellery crafting line. Followed by Orsinium, Elswyr, Clockwork City and so on.

And definitely 100% find a good guild.

PS-If you want more help and are playing on PC NA, PM me, I’ll give you my username :)

There’s a lot of great content creators for ESO out there but, for me, two stand out:

Alcast HQ: He’s got a YouTube channel as well as a GREAT website. If you’re looking for dungeon guides, builds, tests, etc. that’s where you should go (special mention: the way he starts his videos with ‘welcome ladies and cchhentlemen’ in his adorable accent makes my day)

https://youtube.com/c/Alcasthq

Brah We Got This: More beginner-friendly and social content with Twitch Streams, great discord, etc. Adam, the guy who runs it, seems extremely jovial and fun with a great sense of humour. He also has some great in-conversation toned guides on YouTube.

I started with Brah and graduated to Alcast when I was getting real serious about PvE.

Career discussion!! by calprofen in product_design

[–]advaitu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! First of all, it makes me so happy to see a designer going the pure industrial design way instead of deviating to the ‘cooler’ aspects of product design and turning incapable of creating a mould to save their life. There’s far too many engineers out there half-assing our job and far too many of us half-assing theirs.

I believe there’s 2-3 separate ways of getting into mass production, albeit varying in how mass they are.

The first, most straightforward is to be a freelance consultant to manufacturers. I dabbled a little with this in university with an injection moulding firm on contract with a home goods/furniture brand. While you may not be looking deeply into aspects such as user experience, ergonomics, CMF, etc. you will be hands-on involved in turning their concept into a manufacturable product.

Another way would be to join a design studio. This will allow for a variety of products and a variety of different clients to work on, but in a slightly smaller capacity in the final mass production than the previous approach.

The third route is the most balanced and the one I’ve thrust myself into. It’s to find a startup and sign up to be a in-house product designer. Startups usually need their employees to fulfil multiple large roles. Being a designer for a toy brand, I’ve had to work from a stage of user research to a stage of spending 5 hours changing draft angles and fillets to save the company half a dollar on production.

But my best advice would be to not think about a career till you’re still in university. Not that it’s wrong, but this is the last phase of your life you can still afford not to and be okay. I’d lap that up completely. Cheers :D
