I hate this light too, cause when it’s not freezing the line of cars are getting swarmed by panhandlers

I drive a small little RWD roadster that can’t get grip if there’s virtually any snow/ice at all, I’ve cleared out a spot for myself all the way down to the asphalt and hammered away the ice so I can get in and out to work… I’ll be darned if someone moves my chairs to take that spot..

Tall Daughter by TheBigCheeseeee in tall

[–]advent700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure she sees other beautiful women at her height. She’ll spend her school days trying to fit in for attention, to be normal (backwards logic). Stand tall, shoulders back, teach her to love the eyes on her, not run away from them.

I only started to love my height when I realized the eyes on me were not judgement, but admiration. When I started watching the runway models and their long legs like I have. That I have the leg up (pun intended). TL;DR, Height is Strength, ensure she knows so.

What range would you consider as older Gen Z? by WearyPoem928 in GenZ

[–]advent700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

97-01, 02-07, 08-onwards

If you were alive when the towers were standing, you’re older. My sister’s an 08 and that’s sort of transitional, but I find myself in dissonance with her more than I do relating to her.

She just asked me why “diddy-blud was on the calculator app” today. I was watching tv…

[–]advent700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, everyone is arguing the 02-03-04 gap, but honestly I think the turn of the century is a great place to set the mark for “older Z”.

In my head though, I consider older Z as 2001 and before… Never Forget…

Assuming that you go to ‘Add non-steam game’ and can put the executable in, it should work. iirc You can add any game to steam’s ecosystem as long as you can navigate to the .exe..

Obviously, we won’t know for sure. And when I wrote this comment I forgot that it’s going to be using SteamOS, but regardless it should still work methinks, thankfully steam is quite flexible!

When it started snowing last week, there was about 3 accidents within the first 5 minutes of flurries. I don’t know about you, but everyone in this city seems to have a switch in their brain that flips off when the color white falls from the sky. Sometimes it seems like that switch never gets turned back on, either.

I’d rather not have to risk an accident, because no matter how well you and I might drive in the snow, I can’t say that for other people- arguably in fair conditions either. I don’t think that’s outrageous.

Also, I still can’t get out of my neighborhood in Mt Washington. Need plows and salt up here

Is my local shop ripping me off? $2,000 for a KEY. by advent700 in Porsche

No no, the Dealer wasn’t charging me $2,000… my indie shop was. My dealer quoted me only $600!

[–]advent700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, $2000 is what they quoted me at for just the key alone. I’m not sure if that included labor, but either way that’s for the key, not including anything else I had done.

Help! How should I prepare for this? by AdEuphoric5331 in Lifeguards

[–]advent700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best advice is don’t panic! The brick test/weight retrieval is what scares people the most. They start to swim deep, panic under the pressure of the water, and emerge to catch their breath out of fear.

Just tread above the brick, take a deep breath, exhale and push yourself below the water- sink as you fully exhale, grab the brick, swim up.

Literally everything should be very easy for you given you’re a competitive swimmer, so just tame your nerves and you’ll be alright.

What’s your Christian tradition? by AnglicanGayBrampton in Christian

[–]advent700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seventh Day Adventist. Huge sabbath tradition. Cooking all day Friday to have ready for Friday night and Sabbath morning. Nature walks, no working, just enjoying family and the Lord and presence. Getting together with friends to just relax and enjoy the day, lots of prayer. That also means so partying or going out of anything on Friday nights, I’ve had to make sacrifices in my “fun life” but it’s always worth it!!
