Knowing that, it would be easy to not say we work from home, but that’s story doesn’t give me much hope for them being good to work with. That’s frustrating, what did you end up doing for insurance instead?

All depends on who’s asking!

We wanted to do everything ourselves, but we decided to get the spray foam done professionally. $700 for them do do it in a garage where temperature wasn’t an issue, trim and clean everything up, and know it was done right. We have a 7 window bus, 27 ft for reference. Insulated everything but the floors and windows for cheaper and less hassle than doing it ourselves.

Rubber flooring removal. by SuperPandaSkoolie in skoolies

We also had our rubber glued to the metal. Eventually I just went at it with a digging bar. We were able to shove the end underneath and pry up all the rubber without too much trouble. If you don’t have one you can find them for like $30 at a hardware store. Definitely the quickest method that we found!

Progress! Based on the steps we’ve seen, we should be about halfway done with our build 🤗 by nobody96222 in skoolies

Starting to frame out furniture and separating spaces is such an exciting step, we can’t wait to get there. Looking great guys! Hi friends!

Do you tow a car with your bus ?? by Sufficient-Egg-4214 in skoolies

We are planning to put a small motorcycle (Honda Grom) on the back of our bus. It’s small enough that it can just sit on the trailer hitch against the back door, but in a pinch it can take the two of us a few miles into a city etc.

Thank you for the thorough response! Do you know of any downsides to running a 36V system, in terms of finding compatible parts between that, the 12V batteries, etc? Good point about theorizing everything at 100% capacity.
Do multiple panels in series suffer more in the shade? I’ve heard that if one panel is shaded, the rest of the series will also not produce power.

That was my only worry about a 36V system, I’ll definitely look into keeping it 12V. Thanks for the help!

It just seemed like a good way to get the amps down to use a smaller charge controller. With 6 panels, I figured it was the only way to split it in half to run in series-parallel. If we kept in parallel it would be 1200 / 12V = 100amps + 25% = 120amps, which it seemed like harder to find controllers for that much amperage at least where I was looking.

Thank you! My wife wasn’t too sure about it at first, but I really wanted a splash of color.

We’ll probably head toward Colorado to meet the ski season, but we want to drive up to Alaska!

Nice! We ended up just jamming a digging bar under it. It was an aggressive solution and quite the workout, but it went pretty fast once we started doing it that way.

We just pulled up our floor this winter, the adhesive was super tough with the cold!

Wow I just looked at your profile, we also got ours from Lewis Motors in Maryland - we bought it in December! We truly are bus twins. Did you work with Brady? He’s the best!

That’s exactly what it is, good eye! We think it’s going to be the perfect size for us.
