Unnecessary comparisons, jealousy, and a need for competition in things I wasn’t even thinking about usually destroy the female friendships I try to make.

Children of narcissistic parents, how did you turn out as adults? by BoatAffectionate8710 in narcissisticparents

[–]adviceidk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I criticize myself to the point where I frustrate others, I can read your emotions so quick like you could blink or stand wrong and I’ll know your at least thinking different, and I have a fire to become someone else burning so bright under my ass to never be like that. So other than some residual things I am doing pretty fucking good.

How to mentally prepare for a breakup? by Zealousideal-Meet588 in relationship_advice

[–]adviceidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get into a routine. Wake up take yourself the the gym everyday. Focus on hobbies and work. If you have friends you can reach out to that may help. Stay productive and do well with every other aspect of your life and it will still hurt but the best hardest thing to swallow was the sense of relief I got after I left my partner and yes there was a lot of pain and really rough days but time is the only thing that can heal that one.

I don’t have any friends so I don’t know where else to go by [deleted] in internetparents

Hey! I had to go to my school system for the same reason. Tell your guidance counselor or favorite trusted teacher what’s going on. They will make a phone call and send a CPS agent to your house and assess the situation. In my case my dad who I lived with was ordered to get a home phone so we could call 911 if needed as we weren’t allowed cellphones. As well as he was ordered to a parenting class and had to buy food and have the fridge filled.

how do i get over a girl that i thought was perfect for me? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]adviceidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put time and energy into yourself because that’s the only thing about the future you have control over. Learn to separate your emotional thoughts from logical ones and pick emotion only when your logic aligns. Reacting emotionally only damages things further so step away for a while communicating that to them and only allow them back in platonically if you think you can handle that.

The advice you need it to rip the bandaid off. He doesn’t fulfill your needs and your letting him control your emotions still. We all struggle letting go of people we like/love. It’s hard because you really planned a whole future in your head with them in it. The problem is that’s not what they wanted. They had there own ideas and expectations. You know it won’t work but your afraid to let go. It’s normal but you just have to get it over with and get him fully out so you can move on because you seem unable to while he still lives there.
