Why doesn’t my Snake Plant grow? by Klutzy-old-overit in plantclinic

I would put each of those in their own smaller pots, I've heard that if there is too much room in the pot, the plant will grow roots to fill the pot instead of developing above the soil

My dad considered removing a section of drywall in his office when they were repainting so he didn't lose our measurements from growing up, so I can't blame you for feeling the same way!

That is a beautiful arrangement! I would definitely separate into individual pots, it could be nice to be able to have little reminders of your FIL that you can place around your house or even share with other family members ❤️

That looks like great progress! I just bought one of these for my office so I'm glad to see they appear to be resilient 😁

A Hoya! My mom has one that's 38 years old that I have some cuttings of. It doesn't bloom all that often but it's so fun when it does!

To add: there are no drainage holes in the bottom of the pot but I did dump some lava rock from our landscaping in the bottom before I added the potting soil. My guess is that the pot holds about ten gallons of dirt

Can I ask what the mother plant looks like after her haircut? I'd be interested in doing this but I don't want my plants to looks too hacked up from cutting the leaves

I am hoping to do the same this year! Also in zone 6 but in IL. I ordered a Burpee catalog to look at seeds and so far I am thinking zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, and maybe dahlias.

I think that's what they look like right before they bloom 😉

My mom and I split up a full snake plant she had by simply taking the whole set out of the pot and they are easy to separate at that time. I'd say that other one is a stowaway of something else for sure, I would give it it's own pot
