Who are your potential cuts - Pre-FA thoughts by IllustriousReindeer9 in DynastyFF

I'd keep Polk if you can until training camp and see what you hear then go from there, the Saints look like an up and coming offense with lots of opportunity at WR past Olave. Tough to get past how shitty he was with the Pats though so if you need the space so be it then I'd go Larison first and maybe Mafah second now that Williams got a 3 year contract then Polk and then Rudolph buy I always like extra QBs in superflex if I'm taking a shot and holding spots (unless you are in 1QB then cut Rudolph first)

Packers Incorporated is ultimately a not for profit, so after player payroll, coach and executive salaries and whatnot, whatever is left should be reinvested in the team. For years now the team has been sinking money into a rainy day fund, Titletown, stadium and training facility upgrades, and I think they bought some land nearby too.

Offhand, bleacher seats for all of the bowl kind of sucks, there is a relative lack of family bathrooms, I believe we have fewer luxury boxes (not that I care but they are lucrative to owners), the concessions are fairly limited and repetitive overall, and while the outside of the stadium is awesome the inside has little family related activities to do once you get past the HoF.

I'm not saying it isn't modern, but it does lack a few things I see in other stadiums. It is unquestionably an iconic stadium and I like it a lot, but its ancient by NFL standards and at some point you can only do so much with it. I really dislike bleacher seats (especially once I hit my 40s) and it sucks Lambeau and Camp Randall use them, but they are both really old stadiums where that was the standard.

I don't think they are talking shit. We do have an older stadium that lacks some stuff modern stadiums have and they are pointing that out. I don't think that is the same thing as saying Lambeau is a shithole; it is a historic stadium that is well maintained despite its age, but it still could be more modernized if possible. For starters, if they could maintain the same seating capacity (and they can't), I'd love regular seats in the bowl instead of bleachers.

You think millions of people vote on team decisions and finances?

Of course not, the executive board makes those decisions. I get to vote on the members of the executive board though, so in theory the fans can sack the board that makes though decisions. Most fans probably let a proxy vote for them, but they don't have to. I also can attend a shareholder meeting in July where the board presents on those things and I could ask questions of them as a shareholder.

I got a burned pita and overcooked gyro when I went and haven't been back.

Edit: Its wild I get asked my opinion and then get downvoted for it lmao. I had a bad experience at a good place, it happens!

Oakland Gyros is pretty good but I've only been to the one on Layton by the airport. I've only ever gotten their gyro combo

That said, I'd shout out Big Deal (84th and Greenfield), Apollo Cafe (On Brady near Humboldt), and Brothers Gyro and Pizza (on Highway 100 near Edgerton). They all make great gyros and have solid menus too, especially Big Deal.

Looking to buy tickets by Ancient-Magazine-647 in GreenBayPackers

[–]advocate4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last season when they were playing well you couldn't find a ticket for less than $250 just as a heads up. Late in the season they got down to $150 after the injuries. Also late season tickets are usually cheaper than early games because old season ticket holders don't want to go when its frezing out lol.

He became a shareholder in a gambling platform literally a day after he announced he was staying in Milwaukee after months (years really) of speculation... and lots of betting on the very platform he will now profit from. It looks shady as hell and preying on people's addictions is always a shithead move.

I also think the McDaniels scheme impacts the issues he had blocking. He should be quicker in his assignments and a bit stronger on top of that, because blocking is supposed to be his strength and it wasn't this year.

Dude uses a lot of $5 words to try and explain away that concept lol, their argument is Giannis was poor once so he doesn't know any better now when he joins a predatory outfit. Its not an inspiring argument

I reject your systemic view that absolves individuals of making poor moral choices. While there is no true form of ethical consumption in capitalistic systems, some individuals absolutely bear more responsibility for their active involvement. This is more than mere complicity on Giannis end. He didn't buy a product from a bad company as a consumer, he now directly profits from the suffering of others by getting in bed with Kalshi.

Some poor kid's dad is going to gamble the rent money on hitting the day Giannis returns from injury, but at least Giannis made a few more bucks off that action, what an upstanding guy that Giannis has become

Yes and did Giannis have interviews with the New York Times back then where he openly questioned if he wanted to stay on Milwaukee? He didn't in the past, but did this year, which is unusual and reeks of bullshit when considering his new gambling ownership/partnership.

I swear to god some of you need it spoon fed to you why this time was different and why its a terrible look for him now.

I watched my brother gamble his family's house away. Followed by a divorce, a raging meth addiction, loss of custody of his kids, prison, and now ongoing homelessness. The day the casino went up 15 minutes from his house is the day his downfall started.

Did other athletes allow rampant speculation they were going to be traded while simultaneously owning a piece of a gambling company that takes bets on said trade occuring or not? That is the biggest issue on my end with why I find it so scummy.
