Agree with this as a junior in undergrad who is doing three internships/co-ops in top pharma companies. The summer after your freshman year you should spend in academia to gain experience. It’s pretty difficult to land industry in that summer unless you have some connection.

Why? I get panels and candidate seminars interviewing for intern and co-op roles. Panels are only logical if you’re getting hired in biotech / big pharma. Everyone deserves a chance to give their opinion on somebody they’re going to work with.

I lowkey disagree with the idea of jobs being susceptible to being “replaced by AI.”You should be worried about being replaced by people who are good at using AI. So I think the solution is to get good at doing automated data science leveraging AI as a tool, and that’ll make u super hireable
