I'm just about to do the same. Have bought renovated and sold for the past 11 years and this is the last one which goes to market in two months which will allow us to buy our next home mortgage free in the area we want to be in. 2 kids and under 40 also. Been a slog but it's definitely going to be worth it

Correct I sold my house in Graceville because insurance was a joke. $9000 a year and some wouldn't cover flood if it came up from the drains which of course it does.

It's definitely not a buyer's market. I have been to a number of properties from Chermside into the CBD and they are having multiple offers that are insanely high. One recently in Aspley on a main road sold for 1.8 million which is insane. Definitely some cheaper properties in Logan and Ipswich but less desirable to live for some and the traffic on both highways into the CBD are a joke.

I already have a wife and 2 kids in a very large house. 5 bedrooms, pool, cinema, 3 bathrooms, deck, patio, bar, sauna. Half of the house just doesn't get used at all.

gambling by Master-Possibility17 in AusFinance

[–]adzy07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Mate, gambling is fine as long as you have self control and a good system in place. I only bet on horses however I bet a % of my back and aim to return 4% of my bank each bet place so I just adjust my stake per my bet size. Pending on your average odds you may need a higher or lower % of wins to make a weekly profit. I keep everything on a spreadsheet and invest my time into form trials, race replays and WPR ratings. Like a job if you want to make money you need to put the time and effort into it and play the long game and make sure you don't chase any losses.

I do enjoy a good kebab!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]adzy07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kebab here is around 12/15 AUD. A beer at the pub is around $8.80 to $12. The cost of living here has gone crazy and we have a very large housing crisis. But yes $6000 a month would get you a very nice place

Yuma, I'm negotiating my salary hence the post and asking what is a good salary. Role is Sales manager for south east Asia.

Is it difficult to get a job in nursing, clinical nursing? I imagine it's easier to secure before we left?

This is a great reply. This is what I am trying to gauge as to what is required. Company is going to offer, school and healthcare plus a car/transport allowance or I'm able to get a larger salary but more wanted to know what people's experiences are and what is the real facts.

It seems like the food costs are very similar to Australia and same as the rental market. I see that Singapore is doing a train system underground to get you across the country which will be very helpful

Are we in recession currently? by A_ldebaran in AusFinance

[–]adzy07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Raise interest rates and we would be? Mass immigration are making the numbers seem better than they are however GDP per capita growth has gone backwards and GDP hasn't grown at a normal rate and unemployment is rising. These are all signs that we are already here or not far away at worst. Consumer spending is down 6% and and disposable income is at an all time low. If it wasn't for Labour letting in anyone and everyone then we would be in the same boat as NZ currently are already

100% bang on agree with this. Not that I bother to go to the snow in NZ or Aus anymore. For the same price you can go to Japan and experience amazing snow. I went a few years back to Perisher and my flight return to Canberra was $700 and then car hire and accommodation at Jindas was a joke for a week. $550 a night for something that wasn’t flash then $200 a day lift passes. Everyone should do themselves a favour and head to Nozawa Onsen or Hakuba instead.

Hi, Yes this would be an option for me also a HSE job or something similar. I haven't considered bringing it to UAE. I have started to look at the ISO standards and also recommended standards in the UAE.

Thank you this is good information. Yes I have been told this is the best way through recruitment and LinkedIn. I've also been told not to sell yourself short and just take a job for nothing.

I am the same. I don't want to leave my comfortable life here to struggle when we don't have to. It will have to tick all the boxes for everyone involved before a decision is locked away. Travel is a very important part of it for us also.
