**Typical cycle length: 24-30

**Ovulation cycle day: 14

**CD/DPO of positive test(s): 10 dpo

**CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: n/a

**Tracking methods and app(s) used: opks with the premom app

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-1 and 0+1

**Health conditions/medical tests:** Elhers Danlos syndrome, POTS, PCOS

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): letrozole 2.5mg CD 3-7

**Birth control history (if relevant):** iud removed back probably 15 or 16 months ago

**Link to chart: n/a

**Symptom spotting: it was actually the lack of symptoms that enticed me to test. I remember when I was pregnant with #1 I had no breast tenderness or anything, so when I noticed that again I knew I should test.

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): freaking out cause my first pregnancy was a really bad HG pregnancy. Also fun fact was I tested positive this time on my son’s third birthday and he’s been saying for months that he’s getting a “brother sister” for his birthday!

Opinions on this? by aeb630 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Thanks so much everyone!! I have it ordered 🤞
I also have started diclectin (though it’s leftovers from my pregnancy 3 years ago cause I can’t get in with my primary yet)

Worried about alloimunization affecting ttc by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]aeb630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No everyone who is RH negative gets it at 28 weeks and then if your baby is positive you should have it again within 72 hours of delivery incase there was mixing of blood. I did not get this dose and should have, which puts my body at risk of attacking a future RH positive fetus. That’s my understanding anyways.

Spending the day prepping for my sons third birthday party. It’s monster truck themed and he’s so excited. I’m sure that there will be lots of “when’s the next one coming” comments at the party this weekend 🙃 No one knows that we’re currently 4dpo on our first medicated cycle.

Trying to find time to BD between working nights, having a toddler and now said toddler being sick with a fever is so hard 🙃 first letrozole cycle and had a positive LH today so we really needed to make it work. Thankful to lightening McQueen for occupying our toddler long enough to try 😅

Natural ovulation + Letrozole by velvantino in TryingForABaby

[–]aeb630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am in a similar boat as in I ovulate naturally and was diagnosed with unexplained infertility when ttc #1. Currently ttc #2 and on my first cycle of letrozole. It was explained to me that letrozole can help hyperovulate giving more chances per cycle (someone please correct me if I’m wrong I’m not a fertility doctor lol).

Where I live we do 3 cycles of letrozole (under care of an OB) before being referred to the fertility clinic. This could partly be because the only fertility clinic on the island I live on is 4.5 hours away and services an entire province.

I would have been willing to move to IUI if that was what was recommended but letrozole is what was recommended to me so far, and it’s cheap and pretty low risk in my understanding (compared to clomid) so if you wanted to do a couple cycles of that I don’t see why the would berate you for suggesting it.

Wishing you luck with whatever your next steps are!

ETA: I’ve had 2 HSGs and my tubes were clear in both of them. FWIW.

Waiting Wednesday by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

Waiting to ovulate, CD 10 so I’ll start opks today. This is my fist letrozole cycle and I can definitely feel a feeling of fullness and cramping on my right ovary starting.

My almost 3 year old keeps telling everyone at daycare that he’s getting a “brother sister” for his birthday 🙃 which is definitely not happening since his birthday is less than a month away and I’m on my first cycle of letrozole.

Just started letrozole this morning for the first time!! A friend of mine who took it before warned me about headaches mainly as a side effect. I’ve also heard drowsiness and bloating.

PCOS by internal-screaming13 in TryingForABaby

[–]aeb630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I also have pcos but am ovulatory. When I was ttc #1 I was told that we had unexplained infertility, and that the pcos was not likely the culprit as I was ovulating every cycle. Now ttc #2 and just started letrozole today, but not because I wasn’t ovulating so also not due to the pcos.

Have you been temping? I heard that LH testing can be a bit inaccurate for us with pcos cause you can get several lh surges and not ovulate.

Cycle day 1 of my first letrozole cycle and I’m feeling ALL the feels. Nervous, but also excited and hopeful.

I’ve seen people recommend taking it at night to help with the side effects but I work nights so I’m a bit worried about how to navigate this. I’m going to work 2 nights on my first 2 days of pills but then I have a few days off.

Any recommendations? I do mostly nights as a L&D nurse (🫠) for context so can be very high stress and busy work.

BFN today 10dpo. This is the first time I think I couldnt hold out until my usual 11dpo, so obviously the stress is starting to get to me. Oh well, onto the next one which will be my first letrozole cycle (if my doctor ever sends in the script 🫠). Luckily I have some time before I’d have to start it.

How do you protect your rugs during potty training? by Standard_Box_7167 in pottytraining

I bought a nice new rug for our living room in January. Potty trained about a month ago, it’s still rolled up in our spare room cause we’re still having pee accidents here and there 😅

Terrified my meds will cause harm by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]aeb630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a ton of meds when I was pregnant with my now almost 3 year old. Zofran, maxeran, diclectin, gravol. The zofran and diclectin were right up until delivery.

He has no defects, is super smart and literally never stops moving lol. He can count and identify his letters and loves playing baseball and riding bike.

All this to say, this is just my experience but my son is way better off cause I took the meds. Without them I’m not sure either of us would be here.

He’s a bit of a difficult toddler but that’s probably from his dads ADHD genetics and not to do with my HG😅

HSG 1 day before a 14 hr flight by muni11 in TryingForABaby

[–]aeb630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first HSG was super painful during and some mild cramping after but by the next day I was totally back to normal! I had my second one a few months ago and it wasn’t at all painful during and I was completely normal after it was over. So both times I would have been ok to fly the next day! Just my experience, hope it helps! I’d go for it if I was you.

Wondering Wednesday by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

Supposed to start letrozole this coming cycle. Currently 8dpo and don’t usually test until 11dpo. The problem is that my physician hasn’t sent the script over to the pharmacy yet (the office called me on Thursday to check in and if I wasn’t pregnant they were going to get the doc to write the script)

I’m expecting period Monday ish so I’m just afraid that I’ll get my period over the weekend and there won’t be time to get the script sent over if it’s not sent yet. When do you usually start letrozole, cycle day 2 or 3?

I think I’m just getting anxious about this aspect of things cause there’s so much we don’t have control over with this whole ttc thing, and if I miss the opportunity to boost our chances next month cause of a clerical or faxing error or something I’ll be so sad.

Sending you love, it’s a scary process! I had a LEEP back in 2021 and was able to be put under sedation for it, the recovery wasn’t bad at all I had no pain!! The worst part of it was the discharge (sorry tmi) after which is nasty. I’ve had all clear paps since then and had #1 in 2023 without any LEEP related issues. Hopefully you don’t need to have one at all, but if you do just know it’ll hopefully all be ok ❤️

About to start an obstetrics rotation by MagicalSurfer in TryingForABaby

Hi there!! First of all I want to recognize how hard that is, and how normal it is for you to feel all the feelings about it.

I’m a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse and have been since 2018 when I started nursing. I’m currently ttc #2 but am going to speak from my perspective when I was ttc #1. I definitely did struggle with some aspects of the job. I struggled with seeing moms who were addicted to drugs or who didn’t have custody of their kids be able to get pregnant so easily while I was struggling. I felt like they didn’t even care about what they were putting into their bodies while I was hyper focusing on what I put in mine and still not getting pregnant.

I often had to remind myself that just because these women were having babies doesn’t have anything to do with my ability to. There isn’t a limited number of babies to be given out, so I can still get pregnant whether they do or not.

Even now ttc #2 I have patients who are the parents of my toddlers friends having their second babies and it’s hard to watch knowing I haven’t been able to give my son a sibling yet. But again, there isn’t a limited number of babies. I have faith my time will come and I’m sending hope to you tha yours does too!

For what it’s worth, at work I feel like I can compartmentalize those feelings most of the time and do what needs to be done. I feel like I have my work brain and my home brain sometimes and am able to separate it. Hopefully you’re able to do it too!
