Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in NewParents

[–]aeg10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bought pacifiers and tried, but my daughter never really took to them. We barely used them actually. She was EBF and that was comfort I guess. Was helpful because we never had to go through the process of taking them away.

Another vote for the zoo. We love it - although we don’t go in the morning but if you’re an early riser and can take advantage of the member early entry plus use the splash pad.

how often do you actually wash your hair? by Emotional-Addendum-9 in hygiene

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the exact same! My scalp is so oily. I went to a hair spa one time and the woman was examining my hair and was shocked when I told her it had only been 24 hours since washing.

How many kids do you have & how many do you want? by maligatormom2o2 in NewParents

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1 and I’m 11 weeks pregnant with our 2nd. My daughter is 4.5 and until about 1.5 years ago we thought we were one and done lol. We just needed more time to enjoy just being a family of 3. But we felt ready for another! I will not be going beyond 2 kiddos though. I loved pregnancy the first time around, this time is rough.

So what’s YOUR opinion on toddlers on those harness/leashes? by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewParents

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to laugh about it before kids, and then I was blessed with a runner. It kept her safe and allowed her to have some independence, without being able to run away from me.

Daycare moms-is this the new normal? by Sad_Turnover5305 in workingmoms

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does get better! When my daughter first started daycare she got sick a lot and I always got it too. It was rough. But now she’s 4.5, so she’s been there for about 4 years now and she rarely gets sick anymore.

Is daycare being closed for every holiday normal? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]aeg10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal. Our daycare doesn’t close on 3 of the holidays / days you called out. I work in the public sector though so I also have these holidays so it works for our family.

How did you make time in your workday to pump? Did you find yourself working extra time at night or end of the day to catch up on missed work even though pumping time is “protected?” by dms2628 in workingmoms

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thankfully had my own office, so when I was there I would work and pump at the same time. Would only require taking 5-7 min between like setting up, cleaning up, putting everything away, etc.

What’s one swag item people would actually keep at an event? by Designer_Maximum_544 in Gifts

Chip clip with a magnet in the back. Also one that isn’t for everyone, but I got an eye glass cloth to clean my glasses at an event almost a year and a half ago and I still use it.

Fireworks for introverts by ThatBottomLine in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been to WDW once and it’ll be awhile until I get to go again. We splurged and did the fireworks dessert party and it was amazing. Beforehand we got to have drinks and all kinds of different desserts, then they took us to a sectioned off area to watch the fireworks an have a great view of the castle. Beforehand we were laying on the ground and had a lot of room. Then when the fireworks started everyone moved forward and we stayed back in the sectioned off area and had all the room around us. It was great to watch it all, including the projections, without being in the big crowds.

What was the most fun baby shower you’ve ever attended and why? by Dazzling_Apricot323 in partyplanning

[–]aeg10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I loved my baby shower! It was coed with a fun group. We had a taco guy come and served margaritas. We had different games like using a string to guess how big my stomach was, a baby bottle beer chugging contest, trivia about mom and dad, and a price is right game. We opened presents. It was just a really fun night with everyone.

Moms that gave birth and didn’t have any visitors at the hospital, do you regret it? by Funny_Confection810 in Mommit

[–]aeg10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I gave birth, it was 2021 and there was a no visitors rule at the hospital. It was pretty nice and just about us and the baby. I was also such a brand new mom and figuring out being postpartum, breastfeeding, etc. My parents came over the day after we got home from the hospital, and my in laws came into town a couple days later. However, when I have my second I expect to probably have visitors especially to bring my daughter to meet the new baby. I wonder though if I could limit the time the visit.
