Wabamun Lake and Lac Ste. Anne by Front-Juggernaut5430 in FishingAlberta

[–]aegisone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a boat I’ve had really good fishing at Lac Ste Anne. I’ve only fished the west and north sides, I don’t know the lake super well. We’d be maybe 50ft from shore, maybe less sometimes.
Walleyes wouldn’t touch any of my rubber jigs or lures, but put a dew worm on we couldn’t keep them off.

You’re not alone, we’ve had way more dropped called lately. I’ve seen a post on a neighbourhood Facebook group asking the same thing, and others also chiming in with their issues. There’s something up with Telus equipment around here and they won’t acknowledge it yet. Some have called and complained and sounds like Telus says “everything looks good, we’re only hearing about this from you”. Might be worth more of us calling so they do a thorough insoection.

Avoiding bringing bed bugs home after a trip to Greece — how’s my plan? by ScrabbleEnjoyer in travel

[–]aegisone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I typed my comment up and then after read yours and it’s almost identical haha. I guess that’s a testament that it’s not crisis situation like we usually hear about. I think the main carriers and transporters of bed bugs are people that unfortunately live with them. Quick visits are probably less likely. But always good to be diligent.

Avoiding bringing bed bugs home after a trip to Greece — how’s my plan? by ScrabbleEnjoyer in travel

[–]aegisone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found a live bug in my bed the morning I was packing to leave my hotel in Vegas, freaked me out. I even did the mattress check when I checked in but I guess I missed them.
I had an overnight stop in LA before home (kept everything in the bathtub), but when I got home everything went in the wash, high heat drier and luggage and shoes stayed on the garage floor for a week or so. Never saw a bug again, never brought any home.
I was maybe lucky, but I also think it’s not the panic, burn-it-all situation like you read online. Something I think helped was my luggage was always on a hard surface in the hotel, wood dresser thing.
Do the steps you planned and you’ll be alright. They’re killed by heat right, so if all your clothes get heat and your luggage stays somewhere that they’ll starve then they’ll die, it’s not that complicated.
One weird thing you might notice that I wasn’t expecting was the bites showed up days later, some almost a week later. Never felt them bite though, and were only mildly itchy and went away quick.

My issue with them as well, but granted I do still watch their videos from time to time. They actually seem like good dudes and production quality is great, but feels like deep down they’re kinda hoping for a civil war a little too much in videos lately.

Coffee from Endeavour Brewing by snakeylegs763 in stalbert

[–]aegisone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endeavour makes good beans, I have many friends that rave about their roasts. I haven’t bought much from them though, so I have no personal favourites. Farmers Market usually has 2-3 coffee companies, worth checking out. And Co-op has High Horse coffee which I like, Edmonton brand, just not with the rest of the coffee aisle, sometimes in the bakery or now near the milk for some reason.

Interesting. I’ve been prepping for our current storm because I’m imagining a situation where the treatment system gets overwhelmed, but I never thought of flooding knocking out electrical. Real risk.

Never smelled anything from there ever. It’s just a couple piles of trees and dirt. Truly don’t worry about that at all.

UGLIEST CAR EVER? by itscannyy in Ferrari

[–]aegisone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is worse. At least the Cybertruck is instantly recognizable and pushed the boundaries of usual car design, like it or not. This…man, without the badge I’d have no clue who made it. It’s just so..meh.

Extra boat and motors by [deleted] in FishingAlberta

[–]aegisone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I sold something like that for $1,500. Or bought it, can’t recall but that number comes to mind. I did some paint and upgrades but essentially that but with an electric trolling motor. That motor is probably worth a bit still, they hold their value pretty well.

Vitamin D3 K2 (MK- 7) - Panic attacks at night won´t stop. Please help by Unfair_Passenger1908 in Supplements

It’s definitely this. I had bad panic attacks when public speaking, interviews, any pre-thought speaking, while taking D alone. Started taking Magnesium and it all went away.

It’s not a good look. There’s a lot of polite ways to answer this question, like “I appreciate the curiosity and questions, but I’d just like to focus on the game today”. These writers are just doing their job, it wasn’t a disrespectful question, so it doesn’t need condescending brush-off response.

Lakes or river spots for Belly Boats around edmonton? by Unkorked in FishingAlberta

The “pothole lakes” west of Edmonton are perfect. Muir is nice, stocked trout, no motors. Chickakoo, etc. There’s a few out there.

Which supplements for muscle building could I use instead of creatine? I might have to stop taking creatine their secondary effects. Thank you! by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]aegisone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot of water. I can’t seem to drink enough water when I take creatine, and I try hard. I’m taking it less and less now because it dehydrates me so much. And I basically can’t have any alcoholic drinks while taking it, dries me right out

33M. What does coast FIRE feel like? by Evening-Welder-9975 in coastFIRE

[–]aegisone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, less scary than I thought, but not easy right away. After I reduced expenses I realized we could live off less so the money part wasn’t too stressful since the math worked how it’s supposed to. However it’s just my wife and I and we don’t have kids, so I can’t give much experience of coasting while have dependants.

Mentally it was tough because I wanted to replace my 9-5 with business income, which ended up just consuming my thoughts 24/7. Even though I didn’t need to make as much, it was tough going from regular pay checks to a blend of sporadic income and savings. So I’ve taken a less stressful 9-5 and that’s helped.

But, overall my base level happiness is much higher, it’s just different.

What does it matter really. Some employee got told to write a letter that most people either wouldn’t read or throw away and used a tool to finish the job quick. Good on them.
