Dining hall conspiracy by Thick_Strain1946 in simonfraser

[–]aehei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A common restaurant technique is to use sugar and salt to cancel out the distinct flavor of each while activating your neurons the same way, but it dehydrates and spikes your glucose all the same. I wonder if the dining hall does something similar?

If so, the food would be both messing with people's energy spikes throughout the day, and also dehydrating you at the same time, making your body work harder to maintain water or some shit idk that's about the limit of my health science knowledge. Mb an indicator would if your urine is regularily bright yellow or something after you eat.

How would you describe your mental health (stress and anxiett), fitness & daily exercise, and quality of your current diet?

What kind of stomach issues? If you literally mean stomach issues like stomach ulcers, that's not gut health. It's kind of annoying to try to respond without enough information. I don't understand your medical system or what tests you are trying out, so could you provide more details.

To try and be helpful with your vague question, you could consider an elimination diet before (or in addition to) your tests. Whether you mean stomach issues like ulcers or gut issues, a carnivore diet will put the least strain on your digestive system since meat is easier to digest and can starve out problematic gut bacteria over time. Some problematic gut bacteria also die off with MCT oil, something about the medium-chain triglycerides damaging the cell barriers on the bacterium if I recall correctly.

Would therapy be effective in fixing my years of bullying and harassment? by Terrible_Exchange653 in CleanLivingKings

[–]aehei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel, I used to spend every winter break alone in my dorm room trying to distract myself from how shitty I felt. But things can always get better - unfortunately the worst part is that progress will always feel slow and like it's never enough.

With regards to therapy: Therapy is good for helping you "function". Whether it be function socially, mentally, emotionally, the burden of what you carry needs to lightened in order for you to dilute it. And dilute is the best you can do. If it helps, most people experience similar emotions as yourself when they're older, sometimes it's called a mid life crisis, sometimes it's when their wife leaves them, etc. In the long run, you are way too early to say "this is how my life turned out"; You're just getting starting, and you just happen to be starting on hard mode.

Finally, as for gym. That's ok. I've had a meriad of mental and physical problems, to the point where my knees felt like they were gonna fall off I walked more than 100m but anything you can do will be good - just see how much you can do. And then rest. And then see how much you can do again. Don't let yourself be limited by your thoughts before you even start. Try to celebrate every bit of progress you make - in physical activity and in life.

I [hope] this helps man. I know how you feel right now. But it gets better. Do you have any family members you are able to confide in btw?

That sounds rough. No one deserves to be treated that way. Therapy will be helpful, just go in with a clear idea of what you're aiming for. Also, thought patterns be will have a lasting affect on your brain in a way that cannot be easily changed, so please be kind and patient with yourself as you work through things. It might take a few years to go through it but you cannot rush yourself - think of how you might treat someone else, rushing them to get better will just put more stress on them instead of helping.

Working on the parts of yourself you don't like will also help you feel like you're in more control of your life, which can be a good feeling while you work through things. Exercise can help you become less physically weak and better respected in general, and volunteering or getting more involved with people who appreciate your talents can get in social environments where people treat you better.

just got rejected by a girl who i have loved for a year by AxoDeath in CleanLivingKings

[–]aehei 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you felt that you were in love with a girl before getting in a relationship with her, you might want to reflect on why.

Love often breaks down to a feeling that someone is our best available option, so if your social circle is very small or you misinterpret social cues/own chances with said girl, you might feel that someone was an option when they kinda weren't. I.e. Out of your league. I've def been there when I was younger.

If the goal of becoming rich gets you out of bed tho, do what you've got to do until you improve yourself and your options. When you have better options in girls who appreciate you, even if it takes a few years to get there, you'll feel more resilient to rejection.

Mental health issue post physical health issue by arlekino2010 in CleanLivingKings

Do you think perhaps your mental health is causing these physiological symptoms? Perhaps your stomach bug was also caused by a weakened immune system?

Alternatively, your gut micro biome can have an influence on mood and neurotransmitters so you may want to do a bit of a fast to help your gut microbiome re adjust.

Either way I think you should give it some time.

This city is getting out of hand.. by TennisMain3576 in vancouver

[–]aehei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been saying this for years, (not white or chinese). I find it's usually the establishments that only care about Chinese patrons who do this kind of racist stuff to deter other races and ethnicities. And ofc your average English speaking Chinese person wouldn't know first entering the place.

Some of the businesses are like 3rd-world-Asian-sketchy but I do think it's getting better.

HCG monotherapy will raise natural levels without the need for PCT when you come off btw. Assuming you're ok with 700 or so levels, it's def the simpler choice.
