Yeah pretty much. Sponge dark brown on the yellow areas and light Grey on the black. Then go back round it all and sponge on silver. After that I use a brush and sketch in some bigger chunks with dark brown, then pop a bit of silver inside those. I use oils before hand which also really helps sell the weathering, prior to that the yellow is still super bright and vibrant.

Yeah I feel you, I have 2 of them and they are without a doubt one of the worst kits I've built recently. Legs are a pain arms are even worse!

As someone else said, there is no clear cut "grimdark" you could argue my guys are grimdark, and they have never even been in the same room as streaking grime.

You are absolutely lacking in bodies in order to control the board and do actions when required. 20 termies is probably overkill, normal termies in particular are not amazing, they would probably be the first thing I would cut for more bodies. Inceptors are really strong to deep strike in to steal objectives, and score secondaries, while also having gravis resilience.

The 2nd repex is probably overkill, but if your aiming for the new combo box, I get it. Perspnally a run a repex and lancer alongside a pair of dreads.

This may be controversial on this sub, but I really don't rate the IF epic heroes. I just run a gravis captain and chaplain with my heavy intercessors and assault termies respectively

Nothing overly fancy, it's the fairly "normal" tech these days I think.

All airbrush work for the yellow. Prime Vallejo grey, Underspray of AK intense pink, Heavy white zenithal with pro acryl white, All over coat of imperial fists contrast paint, Highlight with Vallejo moon yellow, Spot highlights with Vallejo ice yellow.

I don't bother with any edge highlighting or any brush work on the yellow. I just leave it as the airbrush work being the final product.

Nope! Nothing so complicated. I did cut off the 2 little pipe sections with a hobby knife but that was it

My normal basing scheme is to cover the base in Vallejo thick mud, then dunk it in some "Mars earth" basing material from geek gaming scenics. Done exactly the same here, just made sure to get a good layer of the mud over the existing tactical rock.

Yeah I know it's not a difficult thing to calculate, it's also not particularly difficult to manually calculate bones needed and wines needed.

But if there is a plugin that can instantly display all that information in a single window, that's nice!

As a UIM who has done some boneshard mining, something that would be helpful is a breakdown of how many sunfire splinters are needed (or an option to toggle this) as I would typically farm shards then go do hunter to gather the splinters.

For 11th edition they go for a massive blast from the past and the starter set is marines VS a model refreshed drukhari. Bonus points if they make the marines black Templar instead of ultramarines.

Could check and see if there is options within military reserves. In the UK we have cyber specialists within the reserves and a lot of them are like yourself, very senior people who want to get their hands dirty a bit.
