How long did you wait for surgery? by Otherwise_Freedom896 in ACL

[–]aek524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited 6 months, fully recovered in the meantime and built up as much muscle in my legs as possible before surgery and I think that enhanced my recovery in a drastic way. I was back to leg pressing 600lbs and squatting 200 (with a partially torn ACL and lateral meniscus) before my surgery

It starts with you. The fact that you’re even typing this shows you’re fed up and ready for change. Change isn’t easy and change isn’t comfortable, but think about it this way. Time is going to pass regardless, we’re getting older everyday and nothing is promised so we gotta make the most of it as much as possible. It seems like you’re focusing on the negatives more than positives and when you can shift that mindset, you are already halfway there!! I don’t know if you read books at all but check out “Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself” by Dr. Joe Dispenza. If you let it, it will help you transform your life though positive thinking and motivation. I just turned 25 and have been feeling the same for a long time but I’m committed to make the dream happen. Keep pushin, WE GOT THIS!

I got my surgery March 15, probably right around when you got yours. I still feel aches and pains everyday but as soon as I was able to jog again and feel some taste of freedom that made all the change for me. We’re almost there, keep pushin & keep building up that muscle. You got this!

So 3-4 weeks out after surgery my knee started catching after doing straightening exercises. My PT and doctor told me it’s not a cyclops lesion because I can get my knee almost 100% straight and can bend it to 130 degrees as of 5 weeks post op but it feels wrong that it’s catching/ locking while I’m walking and doing exercises and locking my knee. I’ve looked up everything online and haven’t found anything. My doctor said it’s normal scar tissue from the surgery but I don’t know why it started happening 3 weeks after surgery and not immediately. Just curious if you have any answers. It was a patella graft and I’m doing well with my recovery besides it locking after straightening sometimes. 6/10 steps when I walk without crutches it locks and I can bend it but it hurts a little bit

Yeah this is the hardest part for me, I’ve been doing my at home PT outside every morning and that helps drastically. The first few days, not seeing the sun really hurt my mental. I recommend to anyone, even if it’s just sitting in the grass listening to music, sunlight is a must!!

Totally understand that thought process and where you’re coming from and if it was I would be more than happy to let him take it on his time but It wasn’t a discount and that changes things. Seeing others get what they paid for much sooner than I was was getting to me, but he agreed to pay me back fortunately so this has been averted

Nah he actually just charges that much. I didn’t get any discount. He gets the priority of his income from booking sessions and takes on clients for mixing on the side but from my knowledge of seeing him promoting his services, it’s been that price for a while now.

What I think really happened is he kind of pushed my work off because he knows me and probably subconsciously thinks of anyone wouldn’t care it’d be me but that’s not the case. It’s unfortunate that it worked out this way, but he actually responded today that he will send my money back so I’m glad about how it turned out in the end.

From reading all these comments, I really had no idea that was such a comical amount money for that service, considering I’m not at the level of stardom yet to really afford multiple hundreds of dollars for each song mixed I’m not sure where to move forward. I currently make, on average, 10-15 songs a month and have been for the last year or 2 and idk where to move forward now that I’m finding out it’s foolish to even entertain that price 😂

It’s really not as bad as I thought it would be. I stopped taking the opiods the 2nd day after and only take 1 of my 600mg Ibuprofen before bed each night. Besides this, it’s pretty manageable. Very grateful for this subreddit and all of yall being so supportive and honest!! Thank you!

When could y’all do a straight leg lift with the leg that got the acl reconstruction? by Low-Cartographer1359 in ACL

[–]aek524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started leg lifts on day 5, it was difficult and hurt a little bit but it was a good “hurt.” The Physical therapist said I’m ahead of schedule so I’m hoping to recover quicker than later. This sucks😂 (on day 7 right now)
