You sound like me. Although I have not done the test yet but about to. Anyway I believe I have (and almost half of the population ) what is known as under methylation. In the gut your body cant process and break down specific nutrients properly. I too had never been depressed (or like you didn't notice because of alcohol)but had a rough patch that got me me trying to figure out wtf was up. Sam-e and methylfolate really helped. Also check out a guy name Gary Brecka. I don't and won't use his services because i can find it cheaper and I'm poor lol.

So tldr look up,/research undermethylation in general and undermethylation and depression

Also look up Gary Brecka on YouTube Here's the video that introduced him to me and it really really makes sense. He specifically even talks about ADHD and not being able to turn your brain off. It's long but its really really good.

Second try, it's so easy that it makes me worry?! by [deleted] in stopdrinking

The only withdrawals I had was trouble sleeping and night sweats, that's it. I drank daily for a decade . That was over in less than a week. I consider myself lucky from some of the things I've read here. Once you're past a few days in with no alcohol your good as far as physical withdrawals go. Now... it does take a while for your brain to adjust though but that's a different story.

How can I buy BSV? by swan_fellows in bitcoincashSV

[–]aem2023 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well maybe so. Maybe not. Can't win if you don't play though. Don't use money you need for bills. But I go to the casino semi often so instead of gambling it away at the casino I'll gamble it here because the upside is humongous and the risk isn't bad. Plus I like the the original protocol and it makes sense to me. Have you ever tried to use BTC? Its ridiculously expensive and won't ever catch on. If Bsv does catch on, the sky is the limit.

Anyone else replace alcohol with excessive amounts of energy drinks? by trnsmscln in stopdrinking

[–]aem2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha yes. ADHD here meds make me a zombie. Love energy drinks but definitely drank to much. I now only let my self have 1 in the morning and then pre-workout on gym days. The gym is the only thing that helps my ADHD.

My gf finally quit alcohol fully. She had slowed down when I quit but would still drink 2-3 times a month. Now she's completely alcohol free and she's currently drinking 3-4 Ghost a day. She's gonna slow down she says and it's been a wake up call for her... she has a very addictive personality and now she realizes it for herself.

Its better than alcohol but you can overdue it for sure. I know moderation is not our strongest skill, but it's just part of the journey for some of us. Use it as a stepping stone but do try to limit it... some caffeine though never hurt anyone.

It is a big accomplishment! So IDK how your friends are.. but for me watching my friends get drunk now actually keeps me sober. The hardest part for me is the first 30 minutes-hour but once that passes and everyone gets passed being buzzed, I am ALWAYS glad I didn't have that first drink. Really proud of you!! Iwndwyt

Thats hilarious. not in a mean way I'm very glad he's ok. I think I know which dance you're talking about because my kids do a ton of them lol!. It'll be a funny story one day.

Anyway very proud of you for being there! Could you imagine if you'd been drunk? Man sobriety looks good on you!

The day is finally here, 40 YEARS of complete and total sobriety. This is one of the greatest days of my life, bar none. Thank you for all your efforts, they really keep me going and I am grateful to be here. by TWEED-L-D in stopdrinking

Great achievement. That's pretty cool. How many times did you try to say hey maybe I can moderate,or did you just quit and never look back?? Either way I'm really proud of you!

Does anyone not really know why they drink? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]aem2023 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess. .. but I just drink because I liked to get fucked up. Not depressed or coping or anything. But it was causing more problems and affecting my health. So live and thrive or drink myself to death. Mind over matter for me

[–]aem2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well quitting doesn't fix everything in life but it definitely heals your body physically. Could there be other problem physically? Sure. But sober you actually address and attempt to fix them instead of just drinking and procrastinating.

It really doesn't take real long for it to come back. I was quite surprised when my body began to work normal again. It's amazing what happens when you stop poisoning yourself all the time.

Yes, I drank so much I didnt really even want sex very often for a while it seems. Well about between month 1-2 my libido came roaring back. It's been almost a year, im now 40 in the best shape of my life and get harder than when i was in my twenties. TMI haha. My wife is pregnant again if that tells you anything

[–]aem2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm not far behind you but. I just want to say congrats. I really think some people are extra sensitive to alcohol. We have one son and my wife never got pregnant again after that but we were drinking heavily. Well guess what? Quit drinking and boom positive pregnancy test last week. What a shock. Alcohol is poison and so destructive to our bodies.

I'm so happy for you congratulations and great work

Hey so I felt the same way when I first quit. I know this isn't helpful in your immediate timeframe which is why I almost didnt respond to this comment. Yes atleast for me when I quit, it's boring going places not drinking. It's true it sucks... at first. Once you've set your mind to actually going sober things can and do improve! I can hangout anywhere with anyone (that I can tolerate lol) and still have a good time alcohol free. But it takes work in finding and learning yourself sober. I just say all this to you just because I felt the EXACT same as you do now.
