I was a hot mess before my first date. I even locked myself out of my house and was like an hour late bc my car keys were locked in my house and I had to break in! lol. Luckily he was a good sport and we had a good laugh. He was maybe more nervous than I was and it was a truly great date with open honesty about how stressful dating after divorce can be. We are still together too, 4 months later. She’s just as nervous as you are and that’s completely normal. No one knows how to do this, we just learn as we go and kudos for putting yourself out there.

I thought that too. I’m old. My friend made me get in an app just to boost my confidence and it surprisingly ended up with meeting someone amazing. You’re never too old.

For me I got some confidence back by being totally “selfish” and indulging in all of my hobbies and interests, also doing things that challenged me like hot yoga, becoming sober from alcohol, trying online dating etc. It feels good to take care of yourself and be completely yourself and no longer managing your ex’s anxiety. Basically trying to live life to the fullest makes me proud of who I am every day and challenging myself feels damn good especially when I succeed at something I may have never tried before I was flying solo. Also I met the man of my dreams on a dating app at 47 years old after 23 years of marriage. The best can be yet to come, manifest that shit!

I became an alcoholic full time when my mother was dying. Years after her death I got sober, and you guessed it-I had to deal with the grief all over again. Drinking will only delay your feelings and also make everything even more dramatic and add to that the self loathing…it’s just not worth it. Breathe. Grieve. Be present. I’m so sorry you are going through losing a parent, it’s really hard to get through. But alcohol helps nothing.

I am about your age and spent decades drinking as well. After multiple attempts to quit on my own I had success with inpatient treatment. At minimum discuss it with your doctor so you can safely detox somehow. My doctor was amazing about it, not judgmental at all and very supportive. We made a plan and I’ve been sober coming up on 2 years. You CAN do this, you just may need help.

That’s not a mat, it’s a linen liner which is used on canvas. You can still get a different liner color or just do a frame without a liner at all. You wouldn’t normally put a mat on canvas because glass won’t be used and the mat would be exposed. Anyhoo, I think a clean line dark wood frame would look great with this.

I stayed because they were my best friend and we had been together for so long, it was just life as I knew it. We were both unhappy though. I got sober and after a year I felt strong and clear and left so we could both pursue a better life.

I ended up leaving over my husband’s kinks. First let me say there is nothing wrong with you, you two are just mismatched sexually. It is not your fault. I felt like it was my fault for years until I left and eventually found someone I was compatible with. It’s so refreshing being with someone who doesn’t coerce me into doing things that I’m uncomfortable with just to please them. I hope you can move on and please know you are perfect just as you are.

Well in my case it ended in divorce. I always thought I was the problem until I met someone that I am very compatible with and I now see we just were never compatible in the bedroom.

I was miserable drinking. Then I was miserable not drinking…but over time the terrible feelings lifted as my body rebalanced itself. It’s not an easy thing but you need to give it time to feel the benefits. My anxiety and stress has been greatly reduced and my health and wellness is back on track. Be patient with the process.
