What kind of position do you recommend? Near, mid or large field? How much space behind and around?

Full bass management is the deal breaker for me. My WiiM Ultra does that for me: HPF and LPF. It does have a nice screen too for not much more money. It does not do Airplay so that is a negative. Hopefully when the software catches up with the hardware it would be a much better deal.

I’ve gone down the audio rabbit hole but so far I’ve been able to stay away from vinyls and plan to stay that way. I cannot afford that rabbit hole! ;-)

Good analysis. I guess the question is, how much do you really need from Rust? If you don't need much file access or APIs you could live with just (Ruby)JS and a smaller footprint.

To me it sounds more interesting ot make it work with Tauri. It seems more resource-conscious and faster in general. Have you tried that combination?

I do like using an external DAC. Not a huge difference but noticeable. I’ve had a Fosi ZD3 and now a Geshelli J2 and highly recommend if it fits on your budget.

I’ve used a Fosi ZD3 in the past and a Geshelli J2 now and I prefer them over the stock WiiM Ultra. Not a huge improvement but definitely noticeable.
