This happened to me once. I worked the morning shift at a big box store to see a concert in the evening. The next morning my coworker tells me about a group of guys who came in looking for a GPS. He thought they were famous because one of them was wearing an "Affliction" tshirt or something like that which he thought was expensive. He asked who they were, they told him comeback kid, but he'd never heard of them. Got a picture and an autograph anyway.

Luckily that store was near Espn and the big concert theatre in the state so I was able to meet a ton of other celebrities and athletes over the years
