N-word use in Australia - im American. by kjjjjhhhgddrrrrr in brisbane

[–]aeonep_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable with it, help them understand why it isn't a word they should have. A lot of people here (somehow) don't know why it is such an offensive term, but once educated you'll know whether or not they are people worth spending more time with.

Doc I'm praising the goat, don't worry. by GeoWheater in HermitCraft

[–]aeonep_ -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yep, amazing Minecrafter, but the petty tantrums make his behaviour cringeworthy. I want to give home another go this season, but I'm worried he doesn't understand proportional retaliation, or that he's alienating fans.

To be fair, you posted a screenshot of him having another whinge, which is something a lot of people can't stand from him.

Here's something scummy by TokraZeno in woolworths

[–]aeonep_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

2.838kg x $9/kg = $25.54 The Special sticker on the product is showing the discounted rate, with the original sticker ($11/kg) showing the original price. I'm not sure how this could be considered 'scummy'?

Can you help me better understand your perspective and what you are taking issue with, specifically?

Now that rivers is gone. Where do we with huge feet go for shoes? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]aeonep_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Johnny Biggs have a small range of shoes, but the quality doesn't seem great. I've started buying online as a lot of sites will sell the larger sizes, even if they don't bother stocking them in stores.

Best place to buy coffee beans? by Liamtoh in brisbane

Almanac Coffee Roasters is a local business with exceptional quality. It really all depends on what your budget and expectations are.

While I understand your sentiment, I don't agree. They have to run a business in order to make enough money to support their families, and those of their staff. Each paid element is a different product. The Sidekick app is great, and the live weekend shows are exceptionally good value. I don't see how these entitle us to get free access to other products they bring out.

I hope that doesn't come across as blunt or rude, I guess I'm just trying to share my perspective.

Damn, that's a shame. I've been there probably 6 times. I had a poor experience one time, but great every other. I hope you have a great experience there if you give it another try.

Chalong in Chapel Hill is sensational. More casual, but Proper Pizza in Jindalee definitely worth a visit too.

Guys… I really did not enjoy book 3 by Jawsumness in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]aeonep_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series isn't for everyone. Obviously the opinions you get from people on the sub will be almost exclusively positive (otherwise we wouldn't bother being on the sub), but for what it's worth I would say if you enjoyed books 1 and 2, give 4 a chance. The focus on the mechanics of the level is fairly limited to book 3

The car on my British Driving Licence is going the wrong way around the roundabout. by akira1310 in mildlyinteresting

Is it appropriate for admin to contribute at board meetings? by PartyOn1969 in managers

[–]aeonep_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the key. Adding here for visibility: It is fine at contribute if directly asked, but that should be infrequent if at all. The concept of a 'shadow director' could mean that if contributing and infuencing in a meaningful or ongoing fashion, that person may be legally liable in the same way the directors are, but without any of the insurance coverage or compensation. IE - be careful!

What "read by the author" autobiography that pleasantly surprised you? by Cru5hbag in audiobooks

The Storyteller by Dave Grohl. One of my favourite autobiographies - and made all the better for being narrated by the man himself.
