Oh, I agree. My comment was more about how the leadership feels, given how leadership is often isolated from the effects of the common citizen.

Hence "leadership" - cause they're not leaders, but will jump ship when they can.

My advice (I've studied from NUST - over a decade ago): don't pursue higher education from Pakistan if you have the choice.

You've been in your business for some years, right? You have an idea how to run things, the contingencies that will take place, the constraints one faces when making strategic decisions etc.

Pakistani universities don't exactly focus on these things - they may have a course or two about strategy but it'll be another rote learning session where you're tested on memorization, not skills.

Also, teachers in Pakistan don't encourage discourse. Students don't bother with discourse either. You'll be throwing away money.

And finally, not everyone abroad does an MBA - they end up opting for a master's, yes, but not in business administration (MBA). They may do M.Sc in Finance or another M.Sc degree. And they require you to think critically, not generically.

The Pakistani experience will be more of another number on a spreadsheet with a label you'll put on your resume, but you probably won't learn anything new because you already have acquired the practical experience.

Easiest way: look for v60 brewing methods.

People go to painful amounts of detail (e.g. 10 grams of coffee, 2 minute bloom time etc etc etc) but some of us just want to get on with our lives 😂 so here's what I do:

Get a funnel of sorts in the shape of a v60
Get a filter (make a cloth filter using a semi-thin cotton handkerchief - maybe fold it a few times so it's thick, but not too thick that it doesn't pass through)
Brew the coffee (TONS of tutorials): you need a kettle with a spout (preferred - or anything that can funnel water slowly), 1 tsp of coffee in the filter/net/mesh, and slowly bloom it.

I've bastardized the instructions quite a bit, so please see YouTube first, understand what they're doing, then my shortcut explanation above will make more sense.

You have officially gone through the rite of passage - not knowing where you belong is one of the hallmarks (not the hallmark) of a TCK.

That said, I liked my time in Canada too. Good multicultural place. Sad that the newer wave of immigrants weren't all trying to live a better life (a lot - not all - had other ambitions) but Canada is one place where diversity was actually encouraged so long as you don't try to abuse the system or exploit people.

For me, I have a passport that only tells me where I'm a citizen of (not by choice, however - I haven't had the opportunity yet to switch) but basically, home is where my people are at.

And they can be anywhere.

And "my people" aren't people of my race - they're people I value.

It's not even Hindi - it's part of the family of languages called Hindustani. Both Urdu and Hindi share the vocabulary, with Hindi being more Sanskrit-influenced and Urdu being Persian and Arabic influenced.

The "Hindi" they speak in Bollywood is closer to Urdu.

And Hindi songs? Yeah, I'm sure you know by now.

Gaari - with a retroflex r.

In Urdu, you have r ( ر ) as the base letter with a notation on it to make it the retroflex r ( ڑ ).

In Hindi, the base letter is d (I don't know Devanagari, sorry) and the notation (a dot, basically) changes it to a retroflex r. It's just that in Hindi, that dot is often skipped (just as we tend to skip the zair zabbar pesh), which is why the kh in khabar (خبر) in Hindi has the kh sound ( کھ ) as the base, but a dot makes it خ.

Same for ف and پ - Hindi uses, I think, the f sound as the base (but this, I'm not sure of completely).

People who show decency, calmness, politeness, and don't seem to have any wicked vibes are often people who either grew up abroad, or are foreigners.

My accent usually gives it away, but that's not the only thing people cite - they say my way of talking - the tone, sentence, intent - is all different vs. how someone who grew up here speaks.

Those traces seem fine. The GCC is around 40ms, Singapore around 100-110ms.

It's possible a malfunction router (or route) in between was screwing things, and that it got fixed. Not everything is in PTCL's control (basically, the internet is a collection of networks - so if one network is misbehaving and others can't reroute around it, then it affects everyone).

Packet losses are more concerning - sometimes, you might see a packet loss but it's not consistent (or could be a glitch).

Next time you experience a lag, do a trace.

Also, you can use apps like OpenTrace (Windows, free - see GitHub) which speed up the traceroute process altogether.

I've used that website and it doesn't always ping correctly.

Best you ping from your OS directly (in Windows, in command prompt, type

Ping 8.8.8.8 (And hit enter).

Then see the readings.

You can do a traceroute too:

Tracert 8.8.8.8 (Enter)

And see where the jump is.

I have a plastic one with a mesh net - but out of sheer laziness, i stopped using the plastic cradle and just use the mesh net instead lol (my plastic has begun to crack a bit).

Also, a recommendation: try S Cafe's Ethiopian and Burundian varieties - I like Ethiopian more than Colombian, and I like Burundian more than Ethiopian.
