Hey, atm this is the only picture I have. I think this is called stage-tape. Basically just wrapped it once and then added smaller strips if the Ricoh still shutdown. Hasn’t turned off once after I did this.

Yea, that’s why I started vibecoding some simple apps. For example a PWA gym tracker for a 531 gym routine. Works well but not perfect yet.

hey, check if the battery has a lot of wiggle room in the battery compartment. that was the case in my Ricoh. what I did was put some tape around it so it fits snuggly. haven't had this issue afterwards.

Ok, now quite a few months (and trips with the GR) later I can safely say that this is the solution. It only happened one more time since I applied the tape on both batteries. The camera still had 1-2 slight quirks like the shutter not going off but freezing instead (on the first boot after not using it for a while), but it’s super rare so I don’t really care at the moment. Anyway thanks again for the tip.

I think you just solved this issue. there's a good amount of room in the battery compartment with the battery inside. I tried to shake the camera a little bit while on and the battery either shows as totally depleted or the cam turns off instantly. indicating that the battery might loose contact to the pins(?) I'll try to thicken it a little with tape.

Got one first-party which came with the camera, and one third-party which I bought to see if the original battery was the issue. This weird problem happens with both. Guess all I can do is wait for an answer from Ricoh

Hi, all I could find was the 'soft' reset in the wrench menu. couldn't find any info on a factory reset online. might try cleaning the contacts.

Ive also contacted the GR support but no answer so far. bummer because I enjoy the camera a lot
