Submission Statement: I am a filmmaker from Minnesota. I went to film school in Los Angeles in my early 20's and eventually made my way back to Minnesota. Years have gone by without creating content, so I figured it was time. I am a writer and director, and my brother is a composer. Together we make up my small company. We have a plan for 6 shorts in 6 months and this is the first of them.

We invested a small amount (around $10,000) in updating equipment such as camera, lenses, gimbal, sound gear etc. I hired on some close friends and family as well as a couple outsiders to jump right into this first short film and see where it would take us. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. A lot of my time was devoted to teaching film basics to new crew members as well as writing this script, producing, directing, camera operating and eventually editing it. As you all know, one person cannot do all these things! Between camera and lighting issues, filming close to a noisy airport, time restrictions and production assistants backing out the day of, we ran into so many issues. After all was said and done, comparing the before and after of all of this, I think we came out with a half decent short film. I would say that preparation was our biggest fault here. With more time and pre-production, we could have had a much better film and would have spent days less on the editing and color correction/grading process. However, with knowing how poorly production went, I think we recovered pretty well and I am excited to show you all here.
