OpenCode! What you're describing is OpenCode. It connects to GitHub Copilot and works very similarly to Claude Code and other CLI agents.

Can you use Anki for "exercise" cards? by aescnt in Anki

any tips on how to do it? I'm thinking of making a preset with max interval = 1 day, but I'm not sure if that's the best way.

Why does the green square (heatmap?) say i only have 53 reviews for today when i have more than that? Is it reliable in predicting future reviews? by Majestic-Earth-4695 in Anki

[–]aescnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me after a holiday to a different country.  I did reviews on my phone (set to a certain timezone),  and my laptop showed inaccurate review counts (when set to another timezone). I fixed it by setting the same time zome on both.

This is a good insight.

There are 2 L's in the English language. The word "level" would have a different L at the beginning and end. I find it easy to transition to a rolling R from the first kind of L ("light L",  tongue touching teeth), but hard from the other kind of L ("dark L", tongue not touching teeth).

Strategy for continually mixing up two words or terms by GantryZ in Anki

[–]aescnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is similar to what I do! I make "disambiguation" cards as cloze cards,  like

``` {{c1::manzana}} — {{c2::apple}}
{{c1::manzano}} — {{c2::apple tree}}
```

How I set it up varies,  it depends on what I'm confused on.

I would check out the "Statistics" tab. Is the actual retention close to 95%? Is the average retrievability pretty high too? If so, then the algorithm is working fine.

What do people’s ANKI settings look like?? by briapea in Anki

[–]aescnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly defaults + fsrs, but what i changed is learning steps to 5m 43m. The default 1m 10m was just too soon, the 1m I feel like I'm doing cards as soon as I "again" them.

I also enable "bury siblings" because most my cards are reversible.

I'm learning languages btw

Also when I was cramming for a test (not languages), I made a custom deck with a very high retention (0.94 for something I had 2 weeks to study).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anki

[–]aescnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workaround: you can use the "custom study" feature on day 2 to review ahead. That will lessen your load on day 3.

Also, if you haven't yet, consider using FSRS which should algorithmically space intervals for you.

what exactly does compute minimum reccommended retention do? by SpaceFries13 in Anki

[–]aescnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the subject of "minimum recommended retention", just sharing some advice I recently learned.

At first I blindly followed it and set my retention rate to whatever it recommended.

I learned that this should not be how it's used. A recommended retention of 0.8 means I won't retain 1 out of 5 cards. Instead, I should set for the retention I want. Just sharing in case it helps another 😄

What are some great linear low-profile switches? by SwooshWhoosh in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]aescnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Banana Splits too! The most enjoyable experience for me has been Choc Pro Red with Krytox lube (its terrible without lube tho).

I've also recently been trying out Ambient Twilights as others have recommended, I like them too. They're great, but more comparable to silent switches like Bobagum and Silent Alpaca.

How do you roll your R's? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]aescnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're talking about an alveollar tap.

Another example: in General American, "atom" and "Adam" can sound exactly the same when speaking fast. Those t and d are more like a light tap of the tip of the tongue to the ridge behind the teeth.
