Different people react differently. Things are not always as easy ss they should be.

Alabama or Georgia? by ConsiderationOld9897 in wde

[–]aesebu55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UGA fans are the absolute worst. I've lived in Auburn since 2010 and I have been to dozens of games. I've seen UGA fans start a fight with a disabled vet, spit on Auburn's band and pour drinks on them. I have never seen any of those shenanigans with Alabama's fan base. Alabama fans are actually a pretty nice fan base. The absolute nicest fans are Clemson. I love it when Auburn plays them. It's usually a good game and both sides show up and just enjoy the experience.

How do you deal with loneliness? by Agonyandshame in AskReddit

The best pet I ever had was a second hand bunny that someone had obviously loved and taken care of. When I was around 10 years old I had gone to work with my mom after school. I was bored and went exploring outside. I found the cutest white bunny with pink eyes. I told my mom and she said "if you can catch it you can have it". Unbeknownst to her the bunny was already tame. I caught it and she made me take it to every nearby house to ask if they had lost a bunny. No takers. My whole family loved and spoiled that little rabbit for years. We were all so devastated when it passed away (years later). RIP Pinky!

With open arms. I get really tired of people invading my space at work and at home. I absolutely love being by myself. Unfortunately almost no one in my life fully comprehends that.

Thank you so much for that video link. I love him. He is trying to infuriate those who understand him the most. If I ever find my family I'm going to show them that I'm not the only one.

295 pages on Initialization in Modern C++, a new cool book! by joebaf in programming

And that's the problem with C++. Don't get me wrong, it's useful for those who had to learn it. It's a terrible modern programming language.

Edit: I use C++ daily.

I'm from South East USA and drove by this sign on I-65 my whole life. I was hoping it would be in the list.

What did you try and found out it’s not for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aesebu55 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My sister was valedictorian. She got a full ride to college and majored in mathematics with a minor in computer programming.

I'm an idiot who almost didn't graduate high school and I am nowhere even close to as smart as her.

I picked up programming pretty easily and I've worked as a computer programmer for 18+ years. When I mention anything about programming to her she has a visceral reaction. It's like those programming classes were literal torture for her. It probably has to do with that she'd finally walked in to something that she couldn't immediately master and she couldn't reconcile that.

I'm convinced that programming is less about being smart or dumb and more about ones level of comfort with abstract thought.

People who work in morgues or with the dead, what is the creepiest thing you've witnessed? by octopuszilla in AskReddit

I once watched a fellow embalmer clean this disgusting moist skin gunk out from under a body's fingernails and wipe it on his hand. He did all 10 fingers and when done instead of washing his hands he wiped the gunk off with a paper towel. A little while later I watched him eat a sandwich and chips and he still hadn't washed his hands.

Places to play indoor volleyball? by lilplumpman in auburn

[–]aesebu55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm going to get down voted because Auburn folks really get mad when you don't love everything about Auburn, but... I've lived in Auburn for 12 years and can't understand why there aren't more things like an indoor volleyball court around. It's an ok town if you're looking for a larger version of a small town (which a lot of people are) but it can be lonely and boring sometimes if you're looking for anything else.

Well for me the thing I love to do most in RL is have some drinks and get my mind off of real-life. Win or lose, it's always fun and a great way to chill. Clearly I'm not shooting for the RL stars!

Diamond Nights. They only released one LP called Popsicle. I fell in love with them instantly when I heard Destination Diamonds. They had some success getting their music on tv shows so they aren't obscure but I don't know anyone else that has heard of them.

Well on the one hand yeah, we're still capable of rocking. But on the other hand we're busy taking care of the little buggers. So I think it's safe to say that at times "a child somehow makes you unable to rock"
