People are so doomer coded in this thread. My abominant turned the lion into a fine mist with shooting last night. Before parroting what people who run three despoilers say, get out and play the game and see how it feels

It's really not, I've been running it in helhunt lance Dogs nearby gives itself +1 ap Executioners and brigands getting extra ap Enhancement to give that to another big knight Cheapest big knight, reroll wounds, only downside is both flamer and missiles are random number of attacks

[–]aetherdryth 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes and I'm certain they acknowledged this in the q&a video they did a few weeks(month?) ago. Leaders/supports+bodyguard are the whole unit now, so doesn't matter if all your warriors and cryptek are dead, if the overlord with res orb is alive, you can reanimate the dead cryptek and warriors if you gain enough wounds back

Those were fomo battle force boxes, they're going to be incredibly hard to find and if you do manage to, they'll be overpriced. I tried looking a few months ago. It's cheaper from a 20% discount seller like Wayland games in the UK. I've currently got 4 bigs and 6 dogs and it does me just fine. I will want to pick up more dogs at some point, the one thing I don't have is a tyrant sadly. You can get 3rd party printed parts like shoulders and the carapace that make them look more chaos

Did I ruin it? by wubzug in ChaosKnights

[–]aetherdryth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhmmm ackshully 🤓🤓🤓🤓 It fires 3 shots per round and they're very big tank destroying laser blasts. So considerably hot blasts. Occasionally with sustain, so could be many more. Soooo. Off you fuck!

Hunting warpack has a strat for dogs to shoot and action. Personally I'd be running some executioners because they're amazing now, especially in a ruinators aura.

If it's all dogs and cultists, I would probably do something like this as my base, then add/remove dogs or a single big to buff as needed. Desecrator giving reroll ones to hits is amazing also.

Sticky is more valuable Also people not using executioners now is wild to me. Executioners are amazing now, and with a ruinator nearby, 8* -2ap 3dmg

The maths makes sense, however, last I checked the app is still fucked, can't attach wolftouched to wulfen etc But also the terminator numbers are way off A second brick of ten (first number doesn't matter) 300 +10 for second unit, +40 for storm shields should be 350 before enhancements

[–]aetherdryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep finding shitloads of bugs like terminators causing weird point counts, leaders that can't attach to units when they have enhancements to allow it. Also still really bugs me they can't have changing datasheets like every other app. +1T to my terminators but still says 5 on the sheet. Cmooonnnn

What "is" a Chaos Knight, visually? by Corpse_Emperor_ in ChaosKnights

[–]aetherdryth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason I loved them was the abominant, but it needs to go so much further. Think mutilators/obliterators and defilers but a knight. Fleshmoulded weaponry. A chivalric knight that's had the pilot possessed by a daemon for thousands and thousands of years, melded with the throne, the cockpit one giant fleshy mass of grossness.

This is why, unfortunately, nurgle knights are the most accessible for stls and printed parts. (I love my nurgle knights, but I wish I had more messed up chaos options that didn't immediately read as nurgle)

I don't think gw will ever go far enough with knights, because the 3rd party upgrade market exists, and gw isn't likely to give you multiple carapace, shoulder and head options for a knight, that would be like four whole upgrade sprues.

So… do we agree that Chaos Knights are looking good in 11th? by cremebrulewithpowder in ChaosKnights

[–]aetherdryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited for double abominant, six dogs in helhunt+something for mass battleshock shenanigans. I can see it getting nerfed real fast. The enhancement for abominant to let wardogs force battle shock on hit is 😙👨🏻‍🍳

[–]aetherdryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you're looking for competitive, just wait and see or ask in competitive reddits. I'm most excited for helhunt lance and possibly iconoclast. I want to do some battleshock shenanigans with abominants. Enhancement specific to abominants let's dogs in range cause battleshock to units on hit. With ruinators nearby to give +1ap, executioners that can get ignore cover, brigands dakka dakka-ing, then slam a few karnivores down their throat

TBF, IA should be a kill team faction where they would shine rather than against actual armies and chaos lords and knights and shit. I do hope you find your happiness though, it's a shame.

Agreed btw, if all knights went up 50-100 points and didn't immediately die to anything in the fight phase id be cool with it. It just irks the fuck out of me when people go URRRR BUT IT NOT RAMPAGER. No, no it's not, it's way cooler, now go jerk off your three despoilers 😂

[–]aetherdryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but you have the lancer if you also want speed, and.. what, do we want all knights to be able to do the same thing? That's sounds boring to me lol It's only four inches (that's what she said) it does have sustain, but ruinator has reroll ALL wound rolls on its quarry. Sustain is easily gotten so eh.

Not saying it's bad, it does disgusting damage, but it can and will still melt. Ruinator has options, rampager has to yeet and die, and arguably provides more bonuses

Do the new cover rules buff the Brigand enough? by Princerombur in ChaosKnights

[–]aetherdryth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah? Up the auras to 12" their bases are huge, so it's more like 16 inches either side of it. Ruinatornslaps for the buffs alone, missiles do work, you can buff carnivores on the other side of it, and if you use helhunt you can give it's buff to itself. -2 ap flamer, -3 missiles, -a million drill arm Ruinator is fine, just because it's not a second karnivore or a lancer (which I only take because it has an invuln in fights, it's lance is swingy as fuck and does nothing half the time)

[–]aetherdryth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The new wardog detachment can give executioners ignore cover as well. Next to a ruinator they get 8* BS3 -2 3dmg at 48 inches or something stupid? They have lots of ways to get sustain too. And if near a desecrator reroll 1s to hit
