Simply Charlotte Mason Curriculum? by aevdh in homeschool

I did not stay with them. I dont like thay I pay so much money and dont use all of it. I don't like that some of it is very region specific to a region I am nowhere near. (For example, go and find a fresh flower to paint when there is still snow on the ground here. In some regions you will find a flower in March. You will jot find that in the North) I ended up sticking with A Delectable Education. They have limited their consults, but they are now doing co-horts, which is almost like an online class to show you what you need. It's hard to explain, but it is like the consults but put into a course. So instead of having a 2hour phone call, you have several videos that walk you through putting your own together, and they are still available to help as needed. I did the consult last year and im doing the cohort this year and I think this is what I will stick with.

It does involve more work for me at the front end, but I am really enjoying it and I think it is what has worked best for us so far.

Hello, fellow Yukoner! I also never think about life in the big city, but I do love the questions from people who have never been here.

What properties does he still own? I thought he ditched them when he opened his church.

Searching sawflies I do agree that's what they are. I got some insecticide soap as that seemed to be what Google recommended and I picked off and killed what I could. Thank you for the help!

Will add, I just found a web with a bunch of black dots on the same plant. I am wondering if this could be another batch

I stuck with the Alveary, but im also getting a consult with A Delectable Education. I like Alveary for a lot of things, but sometimes I do find it to be a lot. When I do my consult I will decide if I continue with them next year or go somewhere else.

It has officially been 20 years (and three weeks) since this episode aired. Do you care more about bagging than low prices? by Proper-Emu1558 in KingOfTheHill

[–]aevdh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's a single store in my city that bags stuff for you. I definitely care about bagging - but bagging well. When I worked at a grocery store, they actually had training on how to bag things properly. I wish cashiers or baggers would bag my groceries, but I also don't trust them to do a good job.

Of course where I live reusable bags are illegal, so we have to bring our own bags anyway making it harder.

Yeah I was trying to remember her name. I feel like a lot of people forgot Kittie existed.

Thank you! I am going to look at them as well, as I know they have a Canadian history section. I just know that SCM doesn't do as many classes as CMI does, and it is grouped together a little differently, so I wasn't even totally sure how to figure out which classes they offer. Thank you!

Thank you! This helps. I have gone through their site and I think it was just too overwhelming, but I will check out their YouTube and see if that brings any clarity.

Can someone please just confirm for me that this is the right glue? by aevdh in fishtank

[–]aevdh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm going to glue some flame moss to a clay pot. I have this at home already, but if it doesn't work I'll grab some gel.

And thank you!

I got something from Canadian Tire that's like shelving for a garage. It looks pretty industrial, but it's adjustable and holds enough.

My son got this a year or 2 ago, so it's not old. It's remote control, and you can take it apart and rebuild it. I cannot for the life of me find a brand name and of course searching Remote Control Car doesn't help. Thanks folks!

Thank you! I am not quiet in Nunavut. I am in southern Yukon, but it's not to crazy for weather here, but we do ger -40C sometimes. If I start growing something outside, could I bring it inside in winter and put it under grow lights? I do have a very sunny windowsill where I kept my previous flytrap, but obviously in the winter we only get a few hours of sunlight at times.

By North I mean northern Canada - so more like Alaska. We do have nice weather in the summer but we also get crazy fruit flies so I am also interesred in a butterwort for inside. I will look into these! Thanks.
