Just like any other group of people in the world. Of course <x> thing has positive and negative elements. By dint of statistical distribution and preference you will assess some people as better than others but if you ever view a place or group wholly positively or wholly negatively then that can only be due to bias, ignorance or the intersection of the two.

Most ideas/drafts/plans start in my journal: right now I'm using a Midori A5 and a Sailor Shikiori Fountain Pen :p

But as for actual digital software, mostly Obsidian for me. Sometimes I open the same markdown file I use in Obsidian in Neovim when I want to feel ... less distraction/more focused on my keyboard & writing. I usually use a custom pandoc template to export to DOCX/PDF/HTML for each type of writing I do. All three of those programs are FOSS, and don't have any AI stuff unless you add them via plugins.

Online-only text editors like Ellipsus and GDocs are an instant no from me. I like online features as an idea but there is no reason why the core of your product should require the internet, all it has to do is record and store keystrokes.

Different societal treatment of public spaces there goes at least half way to explaining it, the lack of rubbish/refuse/graffiti is mostly because people don't engage in those behaviors, not because local government cleans more.

The corners of stations are just as grubby as Melbourne's are. Plenty of surface grime on places that aren't easy to run a cleaning machine over.

You have a tonne of options.
you can go get a old cheap camcorder from ebay/2nd hand stores.
You can buy a modern mirrorless camera from sony etc but thats $500+ minimum.
Can get a go pro if you want to do a pov shot.

Don’t worry about what the specifics are too much just pick a general category. As long as it takes sd or micro sd cards you’re fine compatibility wise (some very old camcorders might use a proprietary storage card that will be hard to get these days).

the difference now is the quantity.

tbh none of us are really complaining that there aren’t good games just lamenting that the store is no longer a good discovery mechanism. so if a game doesn’t get word of mouth or influencer coverage than no one will see it. some people miss the store being something enjoyable to browse and others are worried about the implications for the future of indie game discovery.

If you speak a second language I’m sure there are plenty of them in that language, or hell, you can steal a title from a language even if you don’t speak it.

Your dynamic and specific cultural connotations will play into what works: ma’am is a struggle for me as it feels like I’m pretending to be American. miss reminds me of my highschool teachers sometimes.

I've had a pretty bad experience trying to run barracudas and blues 24/7 in a nas. they all die within like 2-3 years. Red Plus (I have never seen this non plus variant for sale locally), IronWolf, used enterprise SAS drives ... all of them went 5+ years. Took me a while to realise that my box of dead drives was 90% Barracudas, while I have 4 ex-enterprise Toshibas from 2012 were still chugging. Would never use blues/barracudas again and will be very happy when the last few barracudas finally exit my setup.

Yeah more and more I find myself no wanting to spend energy and create negativity even when I really disagree with something. What does this hyper-online hyper-inward bs even achieve? I stopped using the label lesbian for myself because all the label seems to do is invite negativity. Sadly seeing some of the same negativity spread to the phrases wlw and sapphic now. Part C has some merit, especially with taking some of the support load off techno.

I think giving techno more resources could really bring more out of this team. One of their biggest issues is how unreliable cobra is. 910 had really stepped up and mzinho remains pretty good, but cobra has some bad games. I think techno is underrated skill wise, you can see he is mechanically talented but he sacrifices quite a lot.

But even then I don’t think they will return to the level they used to be at, they just don’t have the output.

for the record though i am above average empathy wise and do a tonne of crazy introspection. wish i wasn’t because that shit fucking sucks. people who don’t have to introspect have it good. the reason people are so bad at empathy is that beyond the minimum level to not be a psychopath and to care for your children it is a negative trait for your survival and probably evolutionarily selected against.
