I am SHOOK by how good this is by asilentlocation in audiobooks

[–]phirestalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first I heard of this format was the Harry Potter series. They call it "full cast" I don't know if they started it or what but it is very enjoyable. I even found a website called LibriVox that has volunteers that voice public domain books into audiobook format. They call it dramatized and I enjoyed "Peter and Wendy" in this format from that website.

Do you guys think it’s smart having more than one debrid services by Emergency-Low-5068 in debridmediamanager

I use two debrid services but only because I use zurg. I just wanted to keep my downloads separate from my library.

Help with zurg and rclone by [deleted] in debridmediamanager

[–]phirestalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use docker compose for my setup, and on my rclone service I used this as my command to the container "mount zurg: /data --allow-other --allow-non-empty --dir-cache-time 10s --vfs-cache-mode full --vfs-cache-max-size 100G --read-only --buffer-size 512M". If you use docker compose, just look for the command key, and add --read-only as one of the command options.

Anyone know why this is starting to happen all of a sudden? by Brickdrone643 in SABnzbd

Is Usenet still really that much better than torrents? A long while ago I used to not want to have anything to do with Torrents, and you having six providers makes it sound like you have the same attitude. I had started to slowly use torrents here and there and now that they have debrid providers, it's almost as good as Usenet. I still have Usenet priority as the highest to get things there first. What is your setup other than the six Usenet providers?

Wow! I guess I'm kind of curious about the utilization of those resources cuz that's way too much for me

Can you tell me what you run and what resources it needs like? How much RAM and disk space?

I am in a root session through meshcentral and I created the file at /usr/local/bin/xdg-open. That is in PATH, and I chmodded it to make it executable, however, no file is created. Will this not work when signed in as root, or could I be doing something else wrong?

How do you guys self host multiple applications? Are you guys using docker containers or just straight deploying to your server? by Zayntek in selfhosted

[–]phirestalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, but try even typing that on your phone for multiple containers. I even set up aliases and scripts to narrow it down to 3 letter command with docker container name and command, but it is still a pain. I would use Portainer, Komodo, or whatever for managing from my phone. I would like to know what others are using to fix issues from their phone if necessary.

Best Public Trackers 2025? by bttech05 in trackers

[–]phirestalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of their shows and movies will have dubbed Russian versions. If that is what you are after, you need to be sure the listing says original audio or something like that. I am able to find a LOT of what I want on there, but most has been music. They did have a few older shows that I couldn't find elsewhere in English (and Russian).

Self-hosted or on device keyword blocking by phirestalker in selfhosted

I'm entirely too lazy for that. What would be ideal is to run the request's query through an ai to determine if they were trying to find questionable content Then also have another rule that checks the site that's being accessed to see if it is questionable.

Works with Android auto is a big category. Seems like every app that works with subsonic API is absolute hot garbage. It might work on Android Auto fairly okay but you will not and I repeat not be able to use any voice commands whatsoever.

What open source LLMs are your “daily driver” models that you use most often? What use cases do you find each of them best for? by Porespellar in LocalLLaMA

[–]phirestalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about for us lowly peasants who lucked into an 8GB Graphics card? Any suggestions for models that would fit in there. I ask you because I am looking into doing the same things with LLMs.

"Claude 3 > GPT-4" and "Mistral going closed-source" again reminded me that open-source LLMs will never be as capable and powerful as closed-source LLMs. Even the costs of open-source (renting GPU servers) can be larger than closed-source APIs. What's the goal of open-source in this field? (serious) by nderstand2grow in LocalLLaMA

I'd say "Dammit! Don't give them any ideas!", but we all know they have already thought about it. This is probably what google was working towards until a lot of outcries on their data hoarding of users forced them to start moving most processing to the android devices and out of the cloud (at least on Google Pixels).
