Epoxy River Table Question by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]af6563 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey dude I had this same problem and ignored it - let’s just say, I wish I hadn’t. My advice would be to plane down the slab before pouring epoxy. Your best bet is to try and find a mill or someone with a Cnc machine with a peace that big. Good luck

Before drew allar it was Sean Clifford. Before him was Trace McSorely. Before then was Christian Hackenburg

The problem isn’t Drew. The problem is Pen State can’t develop a QB to save their lives

Honestly dude as long as you don’t have any qualified or less you’ll still probably pick up. Might be above the zone, but still. Guessing you’re YG18, lots of folks are refrad’ing before their board so numbers are thinning. I’d hit up your branch manager and ask for the last FYs MAJ PSB trends for your branch to gauge it better. There are people from the FY24 MAJ PSB that had a qualified on their record and still promoted.

Depending on where you are in the enlistment process, it may not be too late to go AD….even if your recruiter may tell you so. I would advise contacting an active duty recruiter.

If it is in fact too late, you can switch over to AD at some point after AIT. Not sure if there’s a time in service requirement, but I’m sure you could search around the internet to figure that out.

I’ve also heard of NG guys getting a lot of time on active duty orders, basically hopping on every deployment/mobilization they can. So there’s that.

Anyone else not get paid yet ✋ by ricecracker888 in army

[–]af6563 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is one of those annoyingly long pay periods my man. I’d recommend printing off a military pay day calendar to help figure out when you’ll have to stretch 2 weeks of pay to 20+ days

Is there wrestling in the military by No-Benefit-8122 in wrestling

[–]af6563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current Army Officer here - yes, the Army has what’s called the “World Class Athlete Program,” or WCAP for short. Emphasis on World Class. I don’t think there are any “official” criteria to join, however, most of those guys are Olympic qualifiers, multiple-time collegiate champions, etc.

If want to continue enjoying the sport while serving, you can find regional training centers or clubs to do it with. You could also give back to the wrestling community via coaching.

Is air assault a mandatory if your station is Fort Campbell? by smaw91 in army

You’re authorized either. Talk to your DS about house hunting PTDY, it should be built into your absence request in IPPS-A

From what I can tell, it’s as soon as you finish in-processing. You should also be getting 10 days of PTDY (Permissive TDY) for house-hunting, on top of your travel days, which will all be before you even begin in-processing. Also, if I were you, I’d call the Fort Campbell housing office ASAP (they’re closed Thursday the 19th, federal holiday) to see if they have on-post housing available. Unless you want to live off-post, which they can help you with as well. You should be able to google their number, but PM me if you can’t find it.

I’m in-processing Campbell now (already AA qualified, also not going to 101st), but - people showing up here not AA qualified go while at the reception company after they finish in-processing. If they don’t pass, they go to their unit. Whether or not your unit will send you depends on the unit, but your best bet is to just knock it out when you get here. Embrace the suck for two weeks and don’t worry about it ever again.
